Character Abilities.

Generic list of all the abilites in the game, enjoy :)

Dark Wave:
Used by Cecil. An attack which hits all enemies for a fairly low amount of damage, but also takes off 8-13% of Cecil's HP. Takes a very little time to set up. You will lose this ability after Cecil crosses over to the call of the Paladin.

Cover:
Used by Cecil. Makes Cecil continually protect his allies from physical attacks. After use, changes to "Off"; using that takes off the effects of "Cover". Note that Cecil ALWAYS Covers characters who are low on HP once he becomes a Paladin. The only difference made by using "Cover" is that he will protect even the ones who are not low on HP. But if Cecil is low on HP himself, he tends not to cover Allies who are low on HP.

White:
Uses the abilities of White Magic. Easy enough!

Black:
Uses the abilities Black Magic. Just like that!

Call (Summon):
Used by Rydia, Summons Monsters from the Land of the Summons.

Jump:
Used by Kain. It takes a little time to set up, but Kain jumps up (he cannot be attacked when he does this, as well as cannot be healed) and soon after comes down on an enemy for around 110-200% damage.

Recall:
Used by Tella. Notice that he doesn't know a lot of magic for a great Sage? That's because he's forgotten a lot of it. Using Recall uses a random magic spell (Black or White) from his forgotten spells. MP use is normal.

Pray:
Used by Rosa. Attempts to cast a Cure spell on the party (less than 100 HP recovery per person in a 5-person party, heals a bit more at higher levels) without any MP cost; doesn't always work.

Aim:
Used by Rosa. When equipped with Bow and Arrows, raises the accuracy to 100% to ensure of a hit.

Boast:
Used by Palom. Raises the Wisdom stat slightly during battle (only really effective after a few uses), the affect fades once the battle is over however.

Cry:
Used by Porom. Suprises the enemies, decreasing the time needed to run away (ie, easier to run from battle if you need to).

Twin:
Used by Palom and Porom (both must be healthy). It takes quite a while to set up and uses both their turns; it releases one of two powerful magic attacks, Flare (uses 10 MP from each of them and hits one target) or Comet (uses 20 HP and hits all targets).

Sing:
Used by Gilbert. Depending on the harp equipped, he will sing a song which does various effects to the enemy (sleep, confuse, etc.)

Heal:
Used by Gilbert. Takes one Potion and spreads it out to the entire party. Kind of a waste, since one Cure spell can do the same thing with better effects and without wasting potions.

Hide:
Used by Gilbert. He will leave the battlefield, but will still gain experience from the battle. You should use this when he's still a weak character. This command changes to "Show" once he's hidden; using it makes him come back into battle.

Scan:
Used by Cid. Takes a look at enemy stats; doesn't work on some monsters/bosses.

Build:
Used by Yang. Takes a long time to build up a 2xPower attack against one enemy. Kind of pointless, because just attacking regularly in the same amount of time would do equal damage.

Kick:
Used by Yang. Takes a little time to set up, but hits all enemies with weak to moderate damage. Much more damage will be dealt out at higher levels and if the monsters have the elemental weakness to Yang's Claws.

Endur:
Used by Yang. Raises his defense by a small amount. (again, only really effective after more then a few uses, since his defense is naturally low)

Ninja:
Used by Edge. Uses Ninja magic.

Steal:
Used by Edge. Steals an item from an enemy. Sometimes if it doesn't work, he loses a small amount of HP. Can steal infinite times from the same enemy in the same battle. Casting Haste on Edge or Stop/Slow/Hold on the enemy makes Sneaking easier.

Dart/Throw:
Used by Edge. Throws a weapon or dart from your inventory. Usually does quite a bit of damage. Ignores any defense the enemy has.

Spirit:
Used by FuSoYa. The party's HP gradually recovers. Note that he cannot move for the rest of the battle when he uses this! Personally, its a stupid ability in which should'nt have been made, heh.. FuSoYa is a valuable character and is well, put to waste when this spell is cast (unless he is KO, then you can revive and put him to use again) the most HP it would heal is around 20-40 per turn anyway =\
