Walkthrough V.2

Here is the Dawezy version of the Final Fantasy IV walkthrough, be warned I use some vulgar language as its just part of my nature, so if you don't like it? don't read it. lol. I'll be adding all the tables and such (from all the are information, battles, etc) at a later time, for now its basic text so I know where to fall back to. All information within is based upon the Final Fantasy Anthology (European) remake of Final Fantasy IV, so some of the Items mentioned in this Walkthrough may be different opposed to other versions.

PHASE#1: Text, complete.
PHASE#2: Tables/Images (character portraits, for now), complete.
PHASE#3: Still deciding on more imagery.

Prelude

The games starts off with a show of military strength, namely the Red Wings out on a mission, plundering crystals from Mysidia (which they are just coming back from).. but Cecil feels somewhat ashamed of what they did even though he covers his grief with the Kings orders. Along the way back they encounter a few enemies and disposed of them promptly enough with minor casualties. After the rough in with monsters they arrive back at Baron and get on with their business, Cecil on the other hand reports to the King.

Chattin to the King

On his way through to see the king he is greeted by Baigan, Captain of the Guards who seems to be a bit suspicious about Cecil when he mentions that the Mysidians didn't resist their assault (well, they did but it was no trouble at all). He and Cecil and proceed to the King, Baigan shortly asks Cecil to wait outside the door as he meets with the King, he lets his suspicions of Cecil be known to the King and the King congratulates him on making him aware. Baigan then calls in Cecil to hand the crystal to the King, he does with no argument. After the King dismisses Cecil he stops at the door and thinks to himself about the Mysidian assault and why everything is going on as it is, there-in he proceeds back to the King and questions his motives to all the Crystal gathering. But little did Cecil know that the King took this tongue the wrong way due to the recent suspicions of Baigan and demoted Cecil from his command of the Red Wings.

As understandable as it may be to the King & Baigan, Cecil was pissed off with this decision and decided to get closer to the king to throw more questions.. At the same time Kain enters the room and defends Cecil's actions but to no avail, the King then gives them their next mission [BombRing] (different name in all kinds of translations, heh). The sentries aside the Kings Throne eject Cecil & Kain from the Throne Room. After all the commotion Kain tells Cecil not to worry about it and just go sleep it off.

Here is where you finally get control of Cecil and can walk the guy around the place, so you can head south to the first hallways of the Castle and chat to other people. But you can save the fucking around and go straight to those 3 chests and receive some goodies, the 3 chests contain.. [480 Gil, Tent, Ether] which you will be using on your journey later on. After sorting out that you can now take the left exit of the area and you will see yourself on the top of the castle walkway, just keep going left and you hit the set of stairs. Down this hallway south you are stopped by Rosa whom decides to chat and worry about Cecil, being the Dark Knight that he is he doesn't show much attention to Rosa and tells her the basic deal of what they did in Mysidia and walks his way.

Once outside you can head the tower which should be directly North of you, isn't it cool that Cecil has an entire side of the Castle to himself? plus a slave woman, all the fun facts aside you get confronted by Cid whom gets surprised when Cecil tells him what the Airships are now being used for. He shortly pisses off to attend to other issues which leaves you to head up your Tower and goto sleep in your room. Once night falls Rosa bursts into the room (I personally think she wanted some action, but on par w/ the storyline she doesn't seem horny at all, heh.) and begins to question Cecil about what he was doing today.. He lays the deal down on her (mentions that soon he will lose remorse for his action, due to his alignment with the Darkness.. aww), he is feeling a tad guilty about the whole thing and mentions that he is just a Dark Knight following orders at that moment he cowers off a touch and discontinues eye contact with Rosa. Rosa then gives a "The Cecil I love doesn't talk like that" line and leaves it at that, exiting the room.

...and the night goes on.

Morning breaks as Cecil enters the main hall of the Castle and meets up with Kain, they place a bet on who will kill the beast who threatens the Kingdom over in Mist and go on their way to complete the mission (well, in several ROM patches they say that.. on the PSX they just do the "You ready to kickass!?" in reply "Hell yes, lets be off!". Kinda typical of the 2 most well known Knights of the land). Here is where you get a spiffy looking scrolling text thing with a short story review you could say, read it and move on.

Town of Baron

Bare in mind it is optional to head to the town, but it never hurts to check it out. Upon entering there are several buildings you can enter, the building to the direct right of the entrance is the Inn (where you can rest overnight to refill your HP/MP total, for a small fee, also before you enter head due right to the pot and you'll snab a [Potion]) which you can put to use, around the side of the front counter you will arrive at the back of the Inn and notice alot of NPC's. Feel free to chat to some of them but its not really required, you want those treasure chests at the upper right corner of the place.. simply examine the set of Swords on the wall and the door will open, leaving you open to pickup [Tent, Eyedrops, EagleEye]. On your way out head into the area in-between the Beds and the Front Counter and examine one of the Pots down the bottom, you'll get your hands on a [Potion].. moving back outside now.

Keep moving west and you'll come across the Item Shop, you can purchase the following items from there;

Potion ~ 30g
Tent ~ 100g
Life ~ 100g
Soft ~ 400g
MaidKiss ~ 60g
Eyedrops ~ 30g
Antidote ~ 40g
Gyshal Greens ~ 50g

At this point, all you really need has already been given to you in hidden chests.. the area you'll be heading out into isn't really a threat to either Cecil or Kain at their default level. Back out into the town head straight towards those pots next to the building north/east of the Itemshop, you'll grab a [Potion], that being done enter the house (FYI, its Rosa's house) and have a walk around. You will find a [Ether] in the book-case and a [MaidKiss] in the pot to the top/left corner. Talk to Rosa's mother if you really want to, but you get nothing but a verbal bashing from the old lady so its best not to waste your time, grumpy old bitch. Exit the house and head due north to the Weapon/Armour shop, its locked for this part of the game (which is really annoying because it has some good items and some money, lol).

Since you cant get into the Weapon/Armour shop, why not go and pillage some more treasure? go due east of the Weapons shop and cross the bridge, head north to the top of the waterfall and walk down the middle gush of water. Keep going downstream until you hit the kind of lake down the far end of the stream.. walk around in circles hitting the confirm button and you will find a [Tent, HrGlass], one is down the bottom/right and the other is just right (1 or 2 squares down) of the little canal exit there. Yum, more tents, time to head back upstream and grab more treasure. Once you reach the top of the waterfall once more, go down the path due east (your path is blocked by tree's, so you have to detour around them) and you should be at a door which leads out into a open (yet small) field. Here be a secret passage, its simple to find as you just walk around the top-end of the small block of tree's.

Path is simple enough, go east about 1 square (NOTE: this is when you are in the actual secret passage, not when you get through that door) and then up 3, then go due west until you can no longer walk.. head south then west at this point and you will be in a field full of grass, you will find yourself [Soft x2, Life]. This town has been nice to you hasn't it? all these free items, if you take the time all these items you can save the small amount of gil that you start with. After you have gotten all the treasure in the fair town of Baron there is nothing else you really need to do, you can talk to a few NPC's and see their responses.. especially the little dude who is running around, on the PSX version he goes "Ahhhhhhhhh! a Dark Knight!" which I found to be amusing. There is a "Training Room" you can visit, located pretty much center of the town, but unless your a total newb you need not waste your time.

Out into the world you go!

10 - - -

Monsters - Eagle, Imp, FloatEye, SwordRat.

The enemies out and around Baron are nothing for you to fear, ofcourse you'll have the occasional hit here and there but its nothing to cry over. A few things that should be pointed out that will help you further in the game;

Kain has the ability the Jump, which sends him off the battlefield for roughly 2 turns, give or take its random due to the battles and what is done. Upon his descent he deals in upwards of 200% normal damage that he would deal out.

Kain has a useful triat - x2 Damage to all flying monsters, keep it in mind.

Cecil can damage all monsters on the battlefield with his Dark Wave ability, at the cost of roughly 8-12% of your total HP, the damage to come out of the attack is mediocre but the higher your levels get, then more deadly this ability becomes.

And here we are, finally out in the wilderness. Nothing fancy so far so its best to just head due North/West until you cross some bridges, then you can head West for a short while and then North until you come to the entrance of the Mist Cavern. (alternatively if you are a lazy motherfucker, once you get out of Baron you can head due South/West to a small forest and land yourself in a Chocobo Forest where-in you can get your hands on a [Gyshal], get a Chocobo and head to the Mist Cavern without any random encounters ^.~ hehe, whatever way you wanna do it though.)

Mist Cavern

Monsters - Larva, Imp, SwordRat, SandMoth

A bit musty at first but you get used to it. As with Baron there are many treasures waiting to be picked by our good little team and they all easily accessed. Upon your entrance you have to head due east (because you physically cant walk up the wall lol) until you come to a staircase, which you naturally walk up, from here its a long walk to the West and then North on the second staircase you come across.. when you make it this far continue on going North and you will be greeted by a "strange voice" telling you to leave, but Cecil & Kain being the macho men that they are ignore the taunt and keep on walk. Keep on going north up the nearby staircase and grab a [Potion], go back down a touch and East across the bridge then a short walk to your North see's a staircase, take it and go to the East and get yourself [Eyedrops]. You can see the exit from there right? well if you want the goods go back down the way you got to this new treasure and just follow the path South, take the staircase to the South and follow the path around if you want a [Tent], otherwise keep on following the path due South/East and you will run into another Chest anyway, a [Potion] awaits you.

From the last item you head due north through a few rocky pillars and you are once again given a threat from the strange voice telling you to leave, and again Cecil & Kain ignore it and move on.. now here is where the fun starts, upon nearing the exit you are halted by this strange voice and given the option to keep on going forward, or going back. Your fucking joking? (Kain gives off a witty "Confident bastard, aren't you?") do you think that a Dark Knight and a Dragoon are going to back down from these threats? select yes and you will be drawn into a battle.

Behold, our first boss battle!

Mist Dragon

Mist Dragon
HP: 465
MP: 17
Att: 16
Def: 5
EXP: 700
GIL: 200

Ofcourse, being in such a early phase of the storyline this Mist Dragon is a push-over but then again it can beat you to a pulp if you don't take it seriously. It does normal attacks (which hit you for some decent damage, depends on your level) which is predictable and you cant really avoid them so these attacks aren't your worry. The thing you have to lookout for is his transformation into the Cloud of Mist where he has a auto-counter attack which hits both Cecil & Kain for some harsh damage (again, its harsh if your not leveled much) so you don't want to fuck with it. During this time you can take a breather and use some Potions given the fact that you need them, as soon as the Mist Dragon returns to his original form you can resume your attacks. A basic attack plan is suggested below;

Kain : Jump a few times, but it doesn't make too much difference on the outcome. Normal attacks are much faster and you'll probably do the same damage in the amount of time in the air, but its personal preference.
Cecil
: Well, just plain well keep on slashing and don't bother using Dark Wave as its a waste of HP and does just asmuch damage as your sword does.

Mist Dragon defeated! a job well done! you can now exit the Mist Cave and return to the wilderness..

Mist Outskirts

11 - - -

Monsters - SandMoth, Larva, Sand Man, Sandpede, SandWorm, Imp

A short walk to Mist Village, but you need to bare in mind this region has some new monsters (some of which are the same in the Kaipo area) to play with, take on a few if you so wish then enter the Village of Mist. (NOTE: Unequip Kain so you can sell his equipment later for some extra gil)

Mist Town

Few steps into town.. and what the fuck? The item that the king handed you for your "mission" has activated itself and ejects itself onto the village. Its a pack'o bombs that burn the village to the ground and well.. Cecil & Kain DID have that "what in the hell!?" look upon them, there is a bit of argument about morals and such over the incident and Cecil renounces his loyalty to Baron and the King, Kain agree's to help him on his travels but not for Cecil's sake (Kain wants to hump Rosa, incase you didn't know). Just as that fruitful conversation is over the scream/cry's are heard from a distance, Cecil & Kain run to the scene to see what's going on... they spot a dead woman and her child, they talk about defeating the Mist Dragon and its connection with the dead woman and come to the conclusion that the child must also be killed.. Cecil doesn't agree to this and decides that simply taking her somewhere else is a better idea. In doing so you get thrown into a battle. (no need for a battle information table, its story driven)

The child is invincible at this current time, but you can attack her for fun. After a short time she screams like the little kid she is a summons Titan to lay the smackdown.. but he laid the smackdown a bit TOO HARD and it crumbled the mountains around the Mist Village... nice going Cecil, really nice.

Another short span of time the scene changes to Cecil knocked out having a sleep on the ground.. he comes to after a while and looks around for Kain, yelling his name to see if there is any response... There is none so he figures he may aswell take the child to the next piece of Civilisation, which is the Oasis of Kaipo;

Kaipo Desert

- - - -

12

- - - -

Monsters - SandMoth, Larva, Sand Man, Sandpede, SandWorm, Imp

As is the area between Mist Cavern > Mist Village, there are some new monsters to face and have fun with.. you can take on a small legion of them if you like, the exp will be alot better due to Cecil being the only member of the party thus getting 100% of the exp. Once your done fucking around in the desert beating up monsters you can haul ass to our next destination.

Oasis of Kaipo (aka Damcyan Desert Oasis)

As the name of the town suggests, its an Oasis alright.. infact half the village is water which is kinda cool. Doesn't matter now though, as soon as you enter Kaipo you automatically goto the Inn and you get a freebie because of the child. Cecil attempts to talk to the child and offers his protection to her from now on, he leaves it at that and they both get some shut-eye. And here we have another short delay and we have a small detachment of soldiers from Baron in hunt of the child, Cecil stops them in their path and tells them to back down... unknown to these soldiers is the fact that he IS quite a powerful Dark Knight and take him on for treason to the Kingdom (or atleast, that's what the dialog sounds like).. hoorah, another battle;

General, Soldiers, no challenge.

- - - -

12

- - - -

General
HP: 221
MP: 13
Att: 26
Def: 2
EXP: 398
GIL: 80

Soldier x3
HP: 27
MP: 1
Att: 20
Def: 0
EXP: 157
GIL: 54

It may seem as though you are out-numbered here, but its quite a simple process believe it or not. You notice how the 3 Soldiers only attack when the General tells them to? Well all you need do here is kill the General and those 3 Soldiers now become statues ready to be pushed over and broken. Once this simple process has been completed you will get quite a nice sum of EXP for your time, it almost breaks the 900 mark last I can recall. Should I even put up a basic strategy? nah, its too easy to even waste the extra characters lol. Battle won you now gain the trust of the little child and she tell you her name... Rydia. Well met! thanks for casting Titan on me, BITCH!... heh, as much as he would've loved to say that he just went back to sleep.

Ahhh, lovely sleep.. your now free to roam the Oasis of Kaipo. Directly West of the town entrance is the "Training Room" where-in you can learn some basics of the game, you only need enter if you are a true newb otherwise you are wasting time. North of the "Training Room" we have the Armour Shop, inside you can buy a whole heap of goodies.. namely;

Leather Helmet ~ 100g
Clothes ~ 50g
Leather Armour ~ 200g
Iron Ring ~ 100g

Rydia starts off with Leather Helm/Armour and Iron Ring. If you throw her in the back row (where she will be for a long time running) her armour should suffice. But it always helps to be able to take a few hits WITHOUT being killed (considering, what, she starts with 30 HP? urk.). The building just next to the Armour Shop is the "Inn / Cafe / Itemshop".. and there-in you can purchase;

Potion ~ 30g
Tent ~ 100g
Life ~ 100g
Soft ~ 400g
MaidKiss ~ 60g
Eyedrops ~ 30g
Antidote ~ 40g
Gyshal Greens ~ 50g

Pretty much a default item listing for all the shops in this time of the game, so buy whatever you think you may need.. all you really need is some Potions and maybe some Tents but you should have plenty of those leftover from your good buddy Baron. Now you can head to the Weapons shop which is due East of the Oasis entrance, you can put your gil to use on;

Rod ~ 100g
Staff ~ 160g
Short Bow ~ 220g
Brass Arrows ~ 10g (Per Arrow)

On a personal level I'd just give her a Staff, it may be a bit more expensive then the Rod, but then again Rydia needs all the help she can get. Some may suggest you get the Bow & Arrows to start out with, but when you think about the time of the game its an expensive trade to be taking up so its best to give Rydia something to bash heads, instead of flinging valuable resources she'll never hit.

Exit the weapons shop and examine one of the Pots above the building, it contains an [Ether] which you may find yourself using occasionally on Rydia. Now you can proceed to the last building of the locale and enter, there is an old lady walking around if you talk to her she mentions a girl "mumbling something about a Cecil person" so, continue north and a scene will endure with Rosa sick in bed, she is now in a high fever from travelling the harsh deserts alone in search of Cecil. (if you ask me, Rosa was just horny again and wanted some penis.. as you know we do strange things to get some action, lol) The old man to the left of screen mentions that you need the [Sandruby] to cure her high fever.

Well, enough said! get going on your quest Cecil. If you want some tang from Rosa you should Cure her first.. to accomplish this however, we need to pass through the next area of the game. (I would recommend you level Rydia up a bit before you proceed to the next area, stick close to Kaipo so you can dash into the Inn and refill for cheap.)

Water Cavern

Water Cavern

Monsters - Zombie, EvilShel, Waterbug, CaveToad, Pike, Gator

Mmmm.. wet humid caves, just get a lung full of that eh? Upon entering there is a bridge to your east, take it due north and you will spot 2 chests, you will receive [Potion, MaidKiss] both which will come in handy.. moving back South and to the West you will find yourself crossing another bridge, at the end there is a treasure chest to the South containing a [Tent] now you can jump North and the path will be blocked by an old man, who reveals himself (well, Cecil took a guess lol) to be the Sage - Tellah. After some conversation goes on he joins your party I'll make a note of it, he may be physically weak but his magic can really help you out here ~ Cure 2 in particular, his MP is higher then Rydia's and he has more spells at his disposal.

Continue North a touch and you can see a bridge going to the East, go along and raid the chest below with a [Bomb] inside. Keep the walk going east across multiple bridges until you come to a halt, you can see that chest above you? well you have to take the bridge South into the water then back-track North up the stream, you will receive a [IronRing] in the box (NOTE: Equip it on Tellah, as he is only equipped with a Staff and Leather Armour when you get him.. also helps to purchase a Leather Helm from Kaipo but I failed to mention that, heh) but that's not the only chest you will find in a difficult spot. Continue your travel south through the water and take a turn West until you see the big waterfall you can walk through the center of this and will find yourself in a Secret Area, 3 Chests lay within ~ [Ether2, X-Potion, Life] not bad eh? Backtrack up the bridges and take the nearest Northern bridge and go due West, its straight forward from here to get yourself to the next level.

And here we are, on the second floor (to be honest im not sure if this is going further underground or further to the surface lol) and ready for more action, keep going North and you will see another bridge heading South so take it into the water.. this time around there are no Secret Areas filled with Chests so you can take the quick detour North and grab a chest [Potion] continue your journey South and weave your way to the Bridge facing north, take those and make your way West so you come across another chest, has a yummy [Ether] within. Go back and take the bridge south, all you gotta do from there is go West and its straight forward to the door which you can burst open and take a rest inside on the Save Point. (NOTE: you can use Tents, Cabins on these Save Points and as the name suggests you can Save your progress onto your Memory Card too.) A conversation occurs between Tellah and Cecil, several issues are pointed out about their travels.. Anna running away, Rosa needing the Sand Ruby for her fever, slaying Octomammoth which blocks the exit.

How many damn floors does this place have? damn, once your outside head due East and then North a few clicks to find another chest [IceRod] which you should equip on Tellah, due to his higher accuracy (in comparison to Rydia, that is) and the fact that some monsters down here are Weak vs. Ice. Go back down South and through the water East, head up through the door and we are onto the next floor! You are greeted with many bridges to walk across you can basically look at it this way ~ East/South = Chests [580g, Bomb] ~ West = next floor. Use the first route, then the second and we have the next floor to explore. You can do the runner North and hit East as soon as you see the exit, there is a chest with a [Potion] that being pilfered you can now proceed to the exit. BUT before you do, take advantage of the secret passage beside the exit which will lead you around the North/East of the doorway, towards a cliff which hugs the East of where you were previously walking. As soon as you are out of the passage you just keep on walking South until you see the yummy chest, contains a [Feather Cap] which I would equip on... Tellah, because he has no Headgear to begin with (unless you purchased a Leather Helmet beforehand, then you can give it to Rydia if you want to.. otherwise its better on Tellah anyway, he is the stronger of your 2 new allies... for now.)

By Satan its another floor! Head on North until you catch sight of the 2 chests, proceed South down the nearby ladder and you can retrieve these 2 treasures ~ [Ether, Notus] simply backtrack your steps and head East across the larger bridge and then go due South to reveal another 2 Chests (damn, how many chests are in this place >.>) [Ether, Dark Sword], ofcourse you will be equipping this Sword on Cecil straight away unless you are a crazy foo' but moving on.. there be the exit straight back North, go through it and you will be back out in the open... huzzah! Use a tent since you will probably be a bit beat-up and short of MP, Save, and resume the adventure through the murky caves.

Hows the water? Just jump North to the stairs, then go around South then West to the stack of stairs.. proceed down these to ruffle around the 2 chests to either side of you.. [Hades Helmet, Hades Gauntlet] nice, equip these on Cecil ASAP but keep your Shadow Armour handy, you can sell it at a later date for some decent gil. Scoot back up the stairs and North/West to your next destination, the Lake, as soon as you exit this area, all you need do now is head East to open 2 Chests.. [Hades Armour, Hermes], again you need to equip the armour on Cecil to make him an all powerful motherfucker for this time in the game. Make your way North and you will see a set of tentacle waving around in the water.. walk up to them and hit the action button. Hooray, another boss battle!

Octomammoth
HP: 2350
MP: 146
Att: 22
Def: 0
EXP: 1200
GIL: 500

Straight forward engagement I should say, he does deal out quite alot of damage to Tellah and Rydia, but they aren't really a powerhouse like Cecil lol.;

Cecil just keep on slashing, that's all you pretty much do here. Don't waste your HP on Dark Wave, doesn't do anywhere near asmuch damage as your normal attacks.
Tellah
is on Healing duty, can use the occasional elemental spell but it does sweet fuck all damage.
Rydia
is also on Healing duties, you can put her Summons to use if you like but they don't do extreme amounts of damage.. but then again, any damage is good damage.

Back to the overworld we go! welcome to... Damcyan and its general surroundings, as you walk out into the open and head due north there will be a short scene where the Red Wings bomb the hell out of the Castle. Fair enough I suppose you cant exactly stop falling bombs can you? heh.

Damcyan

Whoa hey, those bombs did a pretty good job of turning this place into rubble. If you want to proceed with the story just keep on going up up and up and you will get an emotional scene between Anna, Edward and Tellah.. here is the place where you un-equip Tellah so you can sell his stuff later for some extra gil.. should ALWAYS remember to do that it saves you in the long run ^.~.. now, where were we? After the scene endures (its not all that fancy.. they all get emotional, Tellah leaves the group Cecil slaps Edward for not being a man.. Rydia tells him to grow up aswell, I found that to be hilarious.) and Edward joins the party.. despite all the abuse these strangers bestowed upon him.

You resume the game outside in the Hovercraft that Edward has provided, you can head straight to the cave if you so wish.. but im going to recommend you head back into the castle and take advantage of a few things. Head back up into that top room where all the commotion went on and take note of the 2 pots on either side of the room, the one on the left restores your HP and Status Ailments and the one on the right restores your MP. So its handy to know if your running low for some odd reason, back down a floor and open the chest on the top/right of the area.. [Tent] is yours, go down another floor.. infact, go down 2 lol, walk all the way down to the exit of Damcyan but don't exit just yet. Walk to the East, hugging the wall of the castle and you will will notice a small extension of the castle.. guess what? its the treasure room.

Need I say more? enter the room and you will see a injured guard interact with him and he tells you not to let the enemy get the treasure.... heh, ironic isn't it? Your here to snatch the treasure yet your not a bad guy XD.. just above where the guard was is a switch, use it and a door will open, its a semi-secret passage which leads to the many chests above you, go through it and you will find the following in all the chests (no particular order)... [Crossbow, Feather Cap, RubyRing], equip the Ring on Rydia and be on your way back to that door, before you exit take a walk down to the far South/East corner of the room and go down those stairs. Well lookie what we have here, by all means open the chests and examine the pots.. in here you will find yourself [Potion, Antidote, Eyedrops, Soft, Life, Ether, Holy Arrows (x2), Brass Arrows] and hot damn, you'd think the inventory would've exploded by now? lol

NOW you can exit Damcyan, you've done everything you can do. Get back into the Hovercraft and head due East, you will cross a small group of marshland and you will be on the piece of land off the East of Damcyan, from here you head South and stop infront of that cave you can see.. here is our next area of monster-slashing fun..

That being said we can jump right into the fun (NOTE: place Edward in the back row.. his low HP lands him KO quite often and he has ranged attacks, so he'll do the same damage regardless.. plus that first Harp he has contains the Sleep spell, w00t.), from the entrance head down the first of stairs you can see and go West a few clicks, goto the Chest and gets your hands on a [Potion], head back down and continue on to grab that other chest to the West, [Silk Web] awaits. Head back down to your South/East and take those set of stairs and go East for a while, take the path north where the bridge be snatch the chest [Potion] and head back South and go East, up those stairs and keep going until you get to another yum chest, say hello to a [Soft].

Take a walk back South and go West once you hit those stairs (I should've gone to this area first, but it slipped my mind.) until you see an open path heading South.. its a straight forward walk around the corner so I need not explain directions, take it South obviously and go around the corner and raid the 2 chests... [Tent, Potion].. backtrack to those big set of stairs we were at earlier and head due South to the exit. Again this first bit is a straight line South past a chest [Notus], then you take a U turn and head into that door.. if you need helping getting to that chest up the North end, im going to beat you.. take the [Lamia Harp] and equip it on Edward, holy shit batman! his attack power is nearly as high as Cecil's! he wont deal anywhere near asmuch damage but that Lamia Harp has quite the deadly effect on its attacks... Confusion! it really screws up the monsters in battle as they attack each other until they die or hit themselves, hehe.

Back outside into the Cave, take the path around the South of the walls and keep going North, you will notice an exit there, I'll be blunt and tell you that it heads to a Save Point with 3 chests inside [Life, Ether, Exit], so take it if you so wish.. if not, continue around the exit and get to that chest [HrGlass1], and head South/West across that bridge to another chest [Silk Web], w00t. Don't head directly West as it leads to a dead-end, instead you go back over the bridge and head South along all the sets of stairs until you see the exit, don't bother going West either its another dead-end. Continue through the exit and we are finally in the Antlion's Nest.. brace yourself we have another boss battle on the way. Just keep on heading south and a short scene will endure where Edward attempts to take the Antlion egg's (i.e., SandRuby for Rosa's high fever) but unknown to the good King (well, he is technically King now lol) is that the Antlion isn't in the mood for company.. so Edward gets attacked by the Antlion, Cecil and Rydia rush to the scene to assist the poor guy.

That's a bigass Antlion!

Antlion
HP: 1100
MP: 68
Att: 11
Def: 3
EXP: 1500
GIL: 800

Beware the auto-counter attack by the Antlion, whenever you hit him he will retaliate with an annoying set of spikes that hit you for... mediocre damage I should say, a general strategy for you to suck up;

Cecil, what else can you do? lol, keep hitting the Fight button and you'll be fine.. though it does cause about 70% of the Counterattacks from the big'ol Antlion.
Edward
, just attack as per normal.. he deals some good damage when he does critical hits surprisingly enough, his accuracy may let you down though. Use the Heal command occasionally, but using an actual Potion on its own is more effective.
Rydia
, can do some of the healing (not too much to heal, but if the counter attack keeps hitting one person you'll be busy) aswell as whipping out that Chocobo summon of hers.. it deals some great damage and should be used often.

Booyah, another boss battle placed under foot and crushed like the pest it is. You have 2 options from here though, you can either walk back out of the cave (no need for me to give instructions, you got in here you can get back out just as easy) or you can use that Exit item you just picked up. Being the lazy bastard that I am I opted for option B and went on my way. Once outside you need to use the Hovercraft once again and head due South/West of Damcyan, you will see a path of shallow rocks (well, he calls them marsh's but what the hell ever lol) which the Hovercraft can drive over.. continue over these rocks and you will be back on the desert around Kaipo, so logically you go to Kaipo and land the Hovercraft. (its South/East from the rocks, incase you were wondering)

Back to Kaipo

Enter Kaipo and proceed straight to the far North/East house where Rosa was, apply the SandRuby to Rosa and another scene will occur where Rosa and Cecil get all emotional (again, I think Rosa is just horny and wanted some penis, but hey that's just me and my little twisted world of romance XD) she explains a few things to Cecil about Golbez being the new captain of the Red Wings and that he is manipulating the King somehow. More conversation endures about crossing Mt. Hobs to reach our next destination, Fabul, to defend the last Crystal on the overworld.. Rosa asks Rydia about casting Fire to melt the Ice that blocks their path on Mt. Hobs but Rydia refuses because she is scared of Fire, it burnt down her village and all so its understandable. Rosa insists to take herself on the journey, so Cecil isn't one to argue such fine looking company (although he did argue, due to her condition, isn't that nice of him? aww).

Later in the night the scene switches to Edward by the Oasis, he plays some music on his harp and sobs about Anna (pussy! stop crying!) and a monster leaps out of the nearby shrub and attacks him. In this battle the monster is infact invulnerable but that's not the issue, Anna appears in the battle and cheers Edward on.. a few more attacks on the monster and he vanishes anyway. You get a delicious 800 exp from that battle, which usually gives him a level up. (in my game, it did, gleee!) That being done Anna's spirit gives him a lecture about how NOT to be a pussy (kidding! she actually tells him to put his chin up and be brave) and disappears.

Next morning, everyone is refreshed (personally I DO think that Cecil & Rosa had sex while Edward was out, but eh, I guess it'll never be confirmed lol.) and you can now head out into the wilderness. But here lye's an argument. What should Rosa be equipped with? Staff or Bow & Arrow? I usually go for the higher attack power which I found within the CrossBow / Brass Arrows combo (well, it'd be higher with those Holy Arrows you picked up.. but save them for Mt. Hobs where the spirits dwell.) but it never hurts to keep a Staff handy incase of an ammunition shortage. Her accuracy is VERY HIGH and we pretty much never miss if you use the Aim command with every turn you attack, you should also equip her with any spare armour you may have that increases your magical strength.. the Feather Cap seemed to work well. Enough of the rambling, onto Mt. Hobs! Where is Mt. Hobs you say? Simple.

If you can remember where the Antlion Cave is, then you'll know where Mt. Hobs is.. just continue your way due East of the Antlion Cave (not in the little desert, but around the north end where the land is narrow and surrounded by water.) and you will be at a set of mountains. Dismount! and head in onto Mt. Hobs.

Be sure to save at the entrance of the Mountain (just incase) and head on up. As you enter you will notice the big clutter of Ice blocking the path? Hmm.. quite inconvenient I must say, lol. Here is where Rosa encourages Rydia to chant the Fire spell, Rydia refuses for a while (due to her town being burnt down, etc etc) so they all throw some abuse it her and she finally decides to cast it. Huzzah! no more Ice! if you want you can head back outside and Save your progress, if you ever get slaughtered up here on the mountain you don't have to endure the soap opera-esque scene again. Heh, moving on. This is quite a simple path to navigate, all the way up the mountain I should say so just keep on jogging north and you will see a cave.. enter and you will be in a new area, all you need to do is head due South/West and you'll see all the chests anyway.. [Tent, Potion, Soft, 960g] aswell as a Save Point (which I would recommend you use, namely for putting a Tent to use.) once you are done pilfering all the treasure head back into the previous area and go East and head through the other cave to see yourself on the Summit.

There be a chest directly to your East, has some [Holy Arrows] in it. Continue your walk north and you will come across a scene where a lone Monk is taking on a horde of monsters (with ease, it seems) but at the back of the horde of monsters is the MomBomb.. so the party jumps in to assist, I must warn you that this battle is harder then it seems.. at the levels I'll show you shortly I was almost wiped out on about 4 occasions.

Is that Bomb on Steroids?

Cecil, all you really need to do (seems to be a trend) is plain well attack, put the occasional Potion to use as Rosa and Rydia cant cover everyone at once. Dark Wave will be handy during the second half of the battle after the explosion.
Rosa
, 70% of the time you will be healing hun, when the party's HP is at a safe level you can throw in the occasional attack (use Aim) to help out. Throw in a Slow spell on the pack of monsters too, anything helps.
Edward
, attack attack attack, Songs don't work on this guy so don't waste a turn, Edward will have a 50/50 role of attacking and Potion using so its simple enough.
Yang
, newest addition being a Monk, he is best at flat out attacking anyway.. so make him do what he is best at. Kick is a waste of a turn during the first phase of the battle, but after the explosion its handy yet not real damaging to all monsters.
Rydia
, Summon and Cure, need I say more? Elemental spells do next to no damage, but during the second phase of the fight it helps to cast Sleep on the group of Bombs, you never know your luck and it'll save you some healing time.

After the battle is over, patch yourself up and head through that cave, from here all you need do is cross that bridge and head south to the bottom of the Mountain. As soon as you touch dry land, USE A TENT, damn, the journey back through Hobs was enough of a pain.. let alone the long walk you got ahead to Fabul. Its a straight walk to the East, with a few North/South diversions around Water, Mountains, you name it, you'll touch the castle of Fabul in a min or so.. depends how many battles slow your progress.

Castle of Fabul

Ello ello, a castle with people in it! gasp! one thing I see people typically doing is running straight up to the Throne Room to speak to the king, but im here to lay it to you.. DON'T, because you will be having some battles in due time. Instead you should make better use of your time and goto the Weapons/Armour shop, and here is what they have to grab.

FireClaw ~ 350g
IceClaw ~ 450g
BoltClaw ~ 550g
Demon Helmet ~ 980g
Demon Armour ~ 3000g
Demon Gauntlets ~ 800g

This list explains itself, lol, at the moment Cecil is equipped with his Hades equipment yah? well what better items to replace it then the full set of Demon gear (besides the Shield, but I'll touch on that later) to further boost your uberness for this time in the game. While your there I'd recommend you get a IceClaw for Yang, so you have both Fire & Ice elementals on your attacks.. if any monsters are weak to either, you'll still do good damage. Out of that shop and across the hall to the Inn, has an Itemshop too;

Potion ~ 30g
Tent ~ 100g
Life ~ 100g
Soft ~ 400g
MaidKiss ~ 60g
Eyedrops ~ 30g
Antidote ~ 40g
Gyshal Greens ~ 50g

Inn costs 100 gil per night, cheap as hell if you ask me. Stock up on some potions, you'll need them. Now that's about all you can do for now, wasn't that hard was it? =P go back outside and Save your progress, then proceed back inside the Castle and chat to the good King. At first he seems a but doubtful of Cecil (due to his former allegiance with Baron, and the whole Dark Knight thing) until Yang steps in and explains the situation and settles all doubt. You can choose to commence the battles now or wait so you can prepare yourself (but you've already done that, so get on with the game damnit).. so delay no longer, lets go kick some ass, the unfortunate thing is that Rydia and Rosa get left behind for "assisting the medic" or something along those lines, as per request of the King. So its up to the men with big cohones to go into battle, being Cecil and Yang.. Edward tags along but has smaller cohones XD

Scene begins at the foot steps of Fabul Castle, all in all there is about.... 6 waves of monsters you gotta bash around the head, so I'll slap the basic deal down and then list all the battles separately aight?

Cecil, there are certain battles (with weaker monsters) where Dark Wave will come in handy, don't use it too often though as you cant heal in-between battles and there are alot of them. Otherwise just attack as per normal and use Potions when you need to.
Yang
, as above Yang has the Kick ability, damages all monsters on the screen.. but its much less damage then what Cecil would dish out, so in the same sense if its a pack of weaker monsters go for it, otherwise its better off beating them with your fists. Potions will be your best friend, so use them.
Edward
, his Harp w/ the Confuse ailment will help you out quite alot, actually. He may not be dishing out much damage (make sure he is in the back row) but as mentioned the ailments help turn the tide of battle. Edward will be the Potion boy though, heh.

Defend Fabul!

4th Wave - Gargoyle

6th Wave - Captain, Fighter x2

Phew, what a rush.. good exp from it all, Yang (in my game) got another level after that last one, but eh, all good. Here we have another scene! huzzah, Kain makes his debut since Cecil saw him last but he is under the influence of Golbez.. Kain challenges Cecil to 1 on 1 and eh, due to the story-driven pace of the battle he infact IS invulnerable so you cant really do much here besides get the beatdown >< (FYI, ive dealt about 3000 dmg to him once, just for the hell of it, ran out of potions lol.).. which is quite a pride smasher but there's nothing you can do, heh. Enter Golbez! who gets confronted by Yang and Edward, shame Golbez flung them away like flies using some kind of lightning attack. Golbez swipes Rosa as a stake-raiser and leaves the room, Kain liberates the Wind Crystal and tells Cecil he was lucky this time.

Doesn't that just make you want to punch him square in the face? lol. After you all get revived by Rydia, get the hell out of the room (due South) to find yourself in the Throne room, if you notice to the West there is a chest [Hermes], yum, remember how I mentioned the Demon Shield? well, if you'll care to take a walk East of the throne you will see a switch to the South, step on it and a door will open.. explore this new secret passage with a chest, low and behold its the [Demon Shield] ! now you have the complete set of Armour (sounds like a toy promotion eh?), gleee! Aside that there are 2 other chests, [Silk Web, Ether]. Nice parting items considering you just got slaughtered lol. Kinda like "Hey, sorry about those broken limbs.. let me make it up to you, here are some items, w00t".

After you are done, head back to the Inn and you get a free overnight rest. Then they begin discussions about how to go about a rescue.. Airships? Nope.. Cars? Nope.. Ships? Yep. Baron has a weak naval force in comparison to the Red Wings so they decide its the best course of action, in the morning everyone chats to the King for permission to take a boat. Yeah, no worries, but while they are chatting about it the King offers Cecil a Sword which was left by a Dark Knight many years ago, you receive the Death Sword. Very nice, it makes you insanely powerful for this part of the game. All the chatter being done, exit the room and explore the towers of Fabul (well, open that chest [Tent] first and THEN exit the room.). On the floor below in the Bar, you will find [Bacchus] in one of the Pots (chat to the chick on the left of the bar, heh), next floor down you exit out of the East Tower. Make your way around to the West Tower now, more treasure awaits.

On this floor you will find in the pots and chests.. [ThorRage, Bomb, Notus, Potion], up the next floor we go to find the medical bay.. chat to the Monks if you feel the need but there's nothing to gain, one more floor and we have Yang's wife, give her a chat and its quite funny, the way she talks kinda like a redneck.. ahem, that's all we can sap from Fabul Castle so lets be off. Oh, be sure to visit the shops on the way out.. one thing I like to do is sell all old equipment to clear out some space, plus you get gil for cleaning it out, heh.

Gleeee! a boat ride across the seven seas.. some would say its romantic but when you are staring at 16-bit sprites its kind of hard to picture neh? lmao. The ride seems steady enough at first, Edward gets a bit emotional but he shakes it off but shortly after.. hello? what's this that is shaking the ship? a giant whirlpool, hmm that's not too good is it? turns out to be Leviathan who is out for a swim (I think, anyway, or he just don't like ships lol) and puts a stop to the trip. The ship begins to get beat-up and Rydia gets thrown overboard by the force, promptly after that Yang jumps off to the rescue! yet the ship continues to be beaten up.. Edward gets knocked around a bit and then the ship gets swallowed into the abyss.

Phase to Cecil, unconscious on a beach. A bit baffled as to where the hell he is, Cecil searches for his allies but to no avail. Here we zoom back to the world map where you can control Cecil once more.

Mysidia

Go straight on in, aside from the fact that.. oh.. you slaughtered some of these guys before? hmm.. im sure they'll rush up and welcome you back, give you free food and accommodation. Its quite the opposite, actually, certain mages in the town cast spells on you if you talk to them, particularly in the bar.. if you REALLY want to get fucked up then talk to the person on the Right... I'll let you figure it out =P head outside and go East to the Itemshop if you need to refill.

Potion ~ 30g
HiPotion ~ 150g
Life ~ 100g
Soft ~ 400g
EchoNote ~ 50g
Cabin ~ 500g
Antidote ~ 40g
Tent ~ 100g

And go check out the Weapons & Armour shops (West of the Itemshop), you'll find quite a new variety of equipment. o.O

IceRod ~ 220g
FlameRod ~ 380g
Cure Staff ~ 480g
Crossbow ~ 700g
Holy Arrows ~ 20g (per arrow)

Wait until your next addition of characters are ready to go before you buy any of these Weapons, as you may have a divided opinion about Ranged vs. Melee.

Magus Helm ~ 700g
GaiaGear ~ 500g
Silver Gauntlet ~ 650g
Paladin Shield ~ 700g
Paladin Helmet ~ 4000g
Paladin Armour ~ 8000g
Paladin Gauntlet ~ 3000g

What in the hell =O very high prices for that armour, if you have the money to spare buying that Paladin gear in advance is a good move.. otherwise, if your poor I'd leave it until you finish the next part of the story. That being said why don't we move on? don't bother going into the building on the far East corner of the town, that's the Devil's Road (flashy name if you ask me, HAIL SATAN!! err.. cough, yeah.) which is sealed due to the recent Baron riff-raff. Continue straight North until you are inside the main building of the town, here you have to speak to the Mysidian Elder in the middle.. he will explain to you why you need to drop the Dark Sword and go the way of the holy Paladin, but no-one who have tried have returned from Mt. Ordeals. Obviously its a risk Cecil is willing to take so he gets the details and is about to leave..

After the Mysidian Elder summons 2 apprentice magicians.. Palom (Black Mage) and Porom (White Mage) to accompany in your travels up to the mountain and back. Hell, Cecil doesn't want them to come.. and Palom doesn't want to go, but Palom gets a swift knock on the head by Porom and they introduce themselves. Say hello to your two new party members. (I guess you can put up with them for now, heh) A note about the 2 little kids though;

Palom has the Bluff ability, it increases his Wis. stat (which determines the power of his Black Magic).. so after about 3 uses of this you can REALLY notice the difference in damage. Only problem is, if you didn't notice the fact that it does infact take up a turn.. times that by 3.. 3 turns of not helping out. Heh.

Porom
can Cry.. yes... Cry. It surprises the monsters and it makes it much easier for you to run from the battle, providing you have to that is.

They both share the ability, Twin, which allows them both to cast some powerful offensive spells. It cannot be used if one of the two twins is KO, or out of MP.

Back to the Weapons and Armour shop.. now.. what would be a sensible choice of equipment? (HINT: Buy a spare set of each of that armour.. not the Paladin stuff, unless your rich, you'll need it atop Mt.Ordeals).. you can start by taking off all their current crappy equipment and selling it, its useless for this part of the game.. buy Magus Hat x2, GaiaGear x2 and Silver Gauntlets x2, if you want to buy 1 more of each one (besides GaiaGear, he already has that equipped), you will be benefiting the next party member you will meet on the Mountain, but if you don't want to, that's all good. Move onto the Weapons Shop. Ok, here is my recommendation FlameRod for Palom and a Cure Staff for Porom. Why are those my choices I hear? well, simple enough.

FlameRod ~ Undead are Weak vs. Fire, and this rod can cast a free Fire, 2x dmg to Undead.
Cure Staff ~ Free Cure to all party members.

Happy? good, lets be off. Buy an extra FlameRod for your next member, if he already has something you can always re-sell your FlameRod anyway. Oh, and if your wondering about the whole Bow & Arrow thing.. yes, those Holy Arrows are quite useful up on Mt. Ordeals but.. at the rate that Palom & Porom miss, even with their staves, the Arrows will never connect. Thus its a waste of money due to the continual need to restock on Arrows. Lets get out of Mysidia already, damn, the Mages still give you a raw attitude for your presence lol.

Ahh, back on the world map.. should I be happy or annoyed? heh. To get to Mt. Ordeals all you need do is go East, taking a few turns around bodies of water, you enter the mountain at the center/South of the mountain range. Cant miss it, special forest formation around it, circular. And please DO NOT FORGET to save your progress as there is a very high chance of getting molested up this mountain. Considering you haven't leveled the Twins too much. (NOTE: Get Palom to Level 12, Fire 2, complete 0wnage.)

At the mouth of Mt.Ordeals you are greeted with a wall a Fire, that's defiantly not a real good thing =\ lucky you got those apprentice mages with you.. Palom shows off and casts Ice, dousing the flames so you can continue your journey. At the very same time it shifts to a scene where Golbez summons Milon, the fiend of Earth, to put a halt to Cecil's walk up the mountain, after the Fiend leaves Kain insists that he goes and kills Cecil. Golbez basically tells him to go fuck himself, heh. "Be grateful I let you live after that blunder." really good manners eh? After all that you are back in control of Cecil, proceed North to the first set of stairs and go around the cliff-face to the east, snab that chest [Potion], go back around and up those stairs. Another chest is asking you to plunder it, has a [Potion].. am I seeing double? heh. Go West a touch and North, go through the opening to find yourself on the next elevation.

Feel a draft? continue to head North and a bit East and you will come across and old friend of yours. Tellah! hooray! If you purchased those items earlier you can equip him with them now, he needs a hat and some better gloves, so hook him up.. give him a FlameRod too if you remembered to purchase an extra one. He explains to you why he is here, he sensed a powerful force one of which he could use to defeat Golbez, even though he is a crusty old dude he still has his attitude. Casting Meteo would kill him but he is willing to take the risk, if it defeats Golbez. Cecil tells him about climbing the Mountain to become a Paladin, more conversation endures and we can move on with the game. Just go North through that exit to find more lovely mountain to walk up.

Once outside of this exit, take a walk West and you will find a set of stairs and at the top there is a chest, [Ether] is yours, go back down and East a touch, go North up that little walkway then change a bit East and up those stairs. Once at the top head over that nearby bridge and down that little path, another chest with another [Ether], w00 (its almost as-if the mountain is trying to tell us something... >.> <.<). Go up and through the next exit. When you come out of here, you get a prompt with a strange noise.. Porom thinks its Palom making some little noises so she tells him to hush, Palom not knowing what Porom is on about gives a "What the hell!?" response, lol. Go north a few clicks then go East across that bridge, tis a Save point.. put it to use and use a Tent.. im sure your party would have abused its HP/MP quite a bit along the way, heh. Saving your Progress is also recommended.

Back West and then up those stairs, you are greeted with another prompt and a strange noise.. again Palom denies making any noises (which he isn't, surprisingly lol) and continues along. Go across that bridge.. but wait.. your being halted by Milon, and I don't think he wants to party.. heres another Boss battle! huzzah.

With Palom and his newfound spells, this battle is beyond the joke.. im not even going to put up a battle plan.. just soak up this piece of information - FIRE 2, it BURNS!! AHH!! But I will point out a few things.

~ Milon counter attacks every single bit of damage he receives, with a Bolt 1. Its annoying but he uses it very often and it can cause an issue.
~ The Ghasts are annoying, kill them first. If not with Fire spells, use a HiPotion or two as they do some nice damage actually.
~ Have Porom use that Cure Staff every single turn she has, saves her using her MP and it generally keeps the party in top shape (HP wise) anyway.

Battle won, heh, if you have alot of MP to spare, continue forward.. otherwise make a move back to that Save Point and use a Tent, Save your progress too if you feel the urge to. As mentioned just before, head back up to the bridge and cross it.. but what's this!? Milon wants to play again.. for fucks... you think he'd learn? In we go.

Gotta groove some more.

Milon-Z
HP: 3523
MP: 220
Att: 46

EXP: 2500
GIL: 3600

Ok, this one is a bit different but not too much more difficult then the latter. No need for a strategy due to what we are fighting, think about Palom and his FIRE 2 again, lol. And again I'll throw out some pointers.

~ The battle starts as a "Back Attack", so Milon-Z gets first turn. In most cases he hits a member in the Back Row (which is now front row, heh) and deals them ALOT of damage as opposed to what he used to. Switch your rows ASAP to prevent any possible KO's.
~ Milon-Z has the ailment of Venom added to all of his attacks, and it is very effective (i.e. you get Venomed alot) so if you have some Antidotes put them to use, otherwise you can just keep on curing to cover the HP loss. Which is what Porom will be doing, and Tellah maybe.
~ Just keep your HP above the 70-90 mark and you should be fine.

Another battle down the toilet, somebody in the party should get a level up from it so its all good. Considering you are right next to that monument you may aswell jump into it and get the story on its way. Remember to Unequip Cecil before you touch the square directly in-between the 2 closest stones. 'Cuz you can sell it all back down at Mysidia and maybe have enough spare to buy yourself some of that overly priced Paladin equipment, heh. But regarding that monument, you walk directly infront of it and a voice speaks to you out of no-where, then sucks the entire party into a secret area covered in crystals. This is the spirit of Cecil's true farther, KLuYa, who helps him transform into a Paladin. But to complete the switch from Dark Knight to Paladin, Cecil has to face his former self.

Sounds odd no? but its easy as shit. When the battle begins the Dark Knight will continuously shoot Dark Waves, it takes a toll on your HP so be sure to have some HiPotions handy. Unlike a normal battle, you win this one by attacking him only once (to get a message in battle) then you continually Parry (about.. 3-5 turns, I think) and the battle automatically ends. Huzzah! he defeated his Dark Side! (Booerns, I liked his dark side, damn you Mysidian Elder!) alternatively you can attack him until he dies, but the Dark Knight has 4520 HP to use so good fucking luck. ^^ Im not a fan of the Paladins so I go 50/50 on it, sometimes I do the parry, sometimes I do the slaughter.. like, making him earn his worth lol.

(enter the Paladin Saga)

How many soap-opera's do we have to watch? damn. The light speaks to Cecil about the good side (for better words) and stopping Golbez, then vanishes leaving Cecil to ponder many things.. shortly after Tellah screams a big.. "OH.. OH YES!!" (you think he just orgasmed? lmao) then he recalls of of his forgotten spells (its a huge arsenal) and also.... Meteo. The light broke the seal on the most powerful spell ever known, Tellah gives off a kickass laugh then leaves the room as happy as a child with a lollypop, the rest follow shortly. Check out Cecil's new set of stats eh? starts a Level 1 of all the things o.O and he only has 2 items equipped. I suppose it would've been handy to buy a few pieces of Paladin gear (or if you did, ignore that line) but eh, I didn't have the money to do so in my game. So upon reaching Mysidia I'll be selling the old Dark Knight equip and setting up some Paladin stuff.

He has a small arsenal of White Magic at his disposal too, but its nothing to be wetting your pants over. As the strength of his White Magic is that of an old lady bending over trying to pick up her crutches. Its extremely weak right now, so just save your MP and go back down the mountain with the others.. hell, by the time you reach the bottom of Ordeals you'll probably be Level 7, 8.. maybe even in upwards of 10-11. But you'll be amazed at how little EXP he requires to level up now that he is a Paladin. Goto that Save point down a few clicks if you need to, more-so for a tent, not actually saving, heh. Then head back to Mysidia and claim your newfound glory. Need directions? bite me.

Return to Mysidia

What a rush! Back in Mysidia so soon (yeah, more like a few hours later.. urk -.-) and what's this? all the Mages are actually praising you.. well fuck me nora, seems the plan worked fine. lol. First port of business will be the Inn to patch yourself up, then you can head on over to the Weapons shop and purchase all the Paladin equipment (15,700 gil all up btw) and sell any old stuff, I personally kept the Death Sword but sold all the other pieces.. sentimental value man lol. Head back outside and save if you want to save the hassle of doing that all again, if not you just head on up to the Main building of the Mysidian Village and speak to the Elder once more. They all trust you now that you have become a Paladin, but hang on, there's some writing inscribed on Cecil's new sword. The Mysidian Legend!

One born of a dragon's mouth
bearing darkness and light
shall rise to the heavens
over the still land.
Bathing the moon in eternal light
he brings a new promise to mother earth
with bounty and grace.

Someday the moon shall seek its own light.
The sons of the Earth and Moon shall then part,
divided by the flow of time.

Well how about that? Booyah (on this PSX version, it cuts out the last 3 lines due to the text filling up the screen so quick.. heh, you get the majority of it though.). The Elder now opens the seal on the Devil's Road between Mysidia and Baron to make your travels shorter. Leave the main building, go out past the walls and head to your East, enter the building to your north to find yourself in the Devil's Path room, by all means step on in and go flying to your next destination.

Town of Baron, again.

Welcome home I guess? heh. Proceed out of the Devil's Path room and you will be back in Baron.. take a deep breath, isn't that breeze fresh? There is a training room just opposite of the door if you so wish to go down and chat to some of them.. otherwise head on down to the Inn, enter, then head up around the Eastern side of the building and continue North, then head West a touch and you will see Yang sitting at a table with a few other goons. Approach Yang and hit the action button but hmm.. seems he doesn't know who you are and orders those few goons to attack you. They are a pushover for your current party;

Strategy? nah, Info? yeah. Not gonna bother with a table and pictures, they are pussies.

~These Guards have 2 little things to lookout for, they counter attack with Mini.. and counter attack to spells with Piggy. So watch what your doing eh?

After those 2 goons are disposed of, now its time for Yang to jump in... erm.. fuck? =O

Boss - Yang

Since this is a story driven battle, Yang is infact invincible here.. his Kick tends to knock everyone's HP down somewhat alot, so make sure Porom is on healing duties.. and Tellah incase of emergencies (Cure 3, or 4) aside from that just continue to attack him as per normal. After you hit him about.. 10 or so times you'll get a prompt of "Ugh..." and the battle ends, Yang is knocked out for a sec. He comes to and says hello to the group (isn't that nice of him? just after he was beating you up like a school bully... fucker!) mentions the whole amnesia thing and how to enter the castle. He then becomes aware that he is holding the BaronKey in his pockets. Very nice indeed, the group rests and they all arise and exit the room.

First order of business, head straight to the Weapons / Armour shop. Open the door using the newly acquired BaronKey and proceed on in. Before you talk to either of those NPC's you have some treasure to swipe. Down the South/Eastern part of the building, you will see a table. Go around the East side to that stool and walk South, a secret passage! follow the path around and pillage those chests.. [2000g, ThorRage] awaits you. Head back around and talk to the NPC's, or just chat to them there as you purchase some new gear. Lets see what they have to offer neh?

Thunder Rod ~ 700g
Cure Staff ~ 480g
FireClaw ~ 350g
IceClaw ~ 450g
BoltClaw ~ 550g

Simple choice for weapons, get yourself 2 Thunder Rod's (For Tellah and Palom), but keep those current Staffs they have handy. You already have a Cure Staff so go purchase a BoltClaw and IceClaw for Yang, as about 90% of the monsters where you are heading are Weak vs. Lightning. Moving onto the Armour shop now.

Headband ~ 450g
Kenpo ~ 4000g
Silver Gauntlet ~ 650g

Seem's this shop is pretty much designed for Yang eh? Get 1 of everything and equip them on Yang, as he starts with only Leather Armour. This is all you need to do in the Town of Baron, so you may aswell exit the town and Save your progress (hey, it never hurts right?) so you don't have to do all that shit again. Re-enter Baron town and go to the West end of town, you will notice a door just above all that grass, try open it.. but hey, its locked. Lucky you got yourself that BaronKey to play with. Unlock the door and head on through, before you head down the stairs, goto your East and through the hidden passage, open the chest for [1000g] and NOW you can go down the stairs.

Waterway

Oh goodie, the sewer.

Monsters - FangShel, Gator, Crocdile, Pike, Piranha, Hydra, ElecFish

Why must we lurk through caves to get to your next mission objective? sigh. Just head on South until you come to a intersection, below you can see some chests.. so by all means head on down and receive [HiPotion, Ether, ThorRage] take note of how much damage Yang does down here, those elementals really help you out down here, I'll do up a list of what is weak to what so you can make your travels lighter. (BTW, use all those elemental items you have picked up along the way.. saves MP)

FangShel ~ Thunder
Gator ~ Ice
Crocdile ~ Ice
Pike ~ Thunder
Piranha ~ Thunder
AquaWorm ~ Thunder
Hydra ~ Thunder
ElecFish ~ Projectiles (Absorbs Thunder)
Guard ~ None

After you have your newfound treasure, continue North and around that path which will make you journey South. Its linear from here so make your way to the next floor. Around the corner and you will find yourself in a small area with Water, you can go South through the wall and follow the path around to the West, there is a chest above those stairs [HrGlass1], now head South (the path goes West a touch, then South, West, etc.) and there is another chest nearby [Silk Web], you can go East from here and continue the path. Keep on going until you get the option of going North or East, To the East is the stream going towards the exit to the next floor (you can go West about halfway up to get into the Northern turnoff, heh) or you can go North and snab some treasure. [Hermes] proceed to the next floor.

Simple enough, just keep walking North and you will see the exit. But hey, there's a chest. Navigate your way through to find [Ether], now you can backtrack to the exit. Once on the next floor head North and you will see a door, Save Point. Booyah, use it. No need to use a tent (But I did, damnit) because in your next area you can get a free rest anyway, I'll touch on that when we get there. In the same room as the Save Point, there is a hidden chest. Upper North/East corner of the room, take the hidden path due East and you have yourself a [Ancient Sword], which is weaker then your current Legend Sword but it has its finer points (has the ailment, Curse, upon it. So you'll randomly give them a Curse, which halves their Attack/Defensive power). Proceed back out and make your way to that exit up the North/East. Huzzah, now we are at our next destination.

Baron Castle, again.

I mentioned the free rest? yeah, its a simple matter of making your way through to Cecil's tower and catching some Zzzz's, no cost, no fuss, Gleee! After the free rest head on down to the Western entrance to the main hall to be greeted by Baigan, captain of the Guards (remember him? the asshole that get you demoted from the Red Wings command, bleh) but he aint human anymore and decides to attack you. Hoo boy here we go.

You're a bad actor, Baigan.

I don't think there is a real strategy you can follow here, but some notes never hurt.

~ Baigan only uses regular attacks against the party, no counters, so have Yang and Cecil attack nothing else besides his torso. (and 1 of the Arms, explained below)
~ The Arm on the left attacks regularly and uses the Vampire ability, which is annoying I must say. Kill this one off if you wish to not to be Vampired.
~ Arm on the Right attacks regularly also, but uses the Entangle ability. I always kill this one because having a character Entangled is the last thing you need in this battle.
~ DO NOT KILL BOTH ARMS, they just regenerate and you'll be wasting your time. Only kill 1 arm to prevent that one little less thing attacking you.
~ The instant you use a spell on Baigan, he casts Wall on himself. Making your magical attacks on him useless, so use a level 3 spell to really cut his HP down, and then just focus on maintaining the party's HP. Blink is also very handy here.
~ After Baigan casts Wall, he regularly casts Haste on the Arms. Sigh.

You get some nice exp off him, and I'll take a stab at saying atleast 3/5 of your party will level. Not bad at all, but moving on. I'd recommend you go straight back to Cecil's tower and rest up, then make your way back down to the Main hall and North to the throne room. Before you enter here is a little something I always do; Unequip all Armour from Palom and Porom, so you can sell it later, they may be that little bit more vulnerable in battle but the next fight is beyond the joke so don't worry yourself. Proceed forward and the King be on his chair. He gives you a yell about renouncing your Dark Sword, but Cecil has a sly comeback "How dare YOU renounce your duty to your people, "Your Majesty"!. Heh, nice one. The king has a chuckle about Milon then reveals himself to be Cagnazzo, Devil of Water!

Smackdown time >=)

I mentioned the battle was a joke earlier right? well, it is. No strategy or notes required, all you need do is cast Bolt 3 (Tellah) and Bolt 2 (Palom) as he is weak to both, should be dead in a few turns. You may want to be quick to cast though, he brings up his Tsunami shield and can throw a powerful Wave at you. (Hell, I was a bit slow and he got me.. about 230-260 dmg to all of my party, blah.) The journey continues, as Cid comes running into the room ready to punch the King's face in when he notices that he isn't there, Cecil says hello as does the rest of the group. But Tellah tries to hurry him along, then they both get into an argument and Porom splits them up, heh, old people are funny. After all the chatter they proceed back down to the Main hall but are halted in the next room (small hall before the Throne Room) and gasp! Cagnazzo is still alive.... in a sense.. and begins to make the room collapse on itself.

Not very good at all eh? so after trying to knock the doors open, Palom and Porom decide to stop the walls from closing in and they turn each other to stone and stop the walls altogether. Brave of them eh! Tellah attempts to cure them but cant due to them stoning themselves by their own will. Too bad so sad, lets keep on going, Cid reveals his new shiny airship and everyone hops onboard! weeeee! as soon as they get airborne they are greeted by one of the Red Wings, but it has a white flag. The ships connect and who appears? Kain, G'day mate! he lays the deal down about trading the Earth Crystal for Rosa's life and Cecil agree's. Kain departs and we can get underway, they made some good calls during that scene I should add, the first line I cracked out laughing the first time I saw it. "Heh! the drag suits you well." Would that just crush your pride? lmao.

All said and done w/ the Enterprise to fly around in.. you can now head North/West to your next destination.. Troia.. go straight on over and land in that tidy little path of open land next to the Castle and Town, so down to business shall we?

Castle of Troia

Pretty tidy castle eh? even has Frogs in the streams around it, heh. Go straight on through the door and keep going North, you will find yourself in the Clerical Chamber, where the 8 Clerics reside. They are also the rulers of the kingdom just so you know, talk to all of them if you want some tips but aside from that its the lesser part of business you have in the Castle. Exit the room and head West out the exit, follow the path to that door you can see. Enter and you will come across an old party member, Edward! wouldn't it just be a joy to have that weakling back? lmao. Cecil tells him of the situation and Tellah does the heroic "I will avenge you!" speech, then after some more conversation he hands you a TwinHarp, which will help you later on in your quest. Exit the room and go to the Eastern wing of the Castle, proceed into that room and you will see 3 sets of stairs going down.

Simple choice eh? (Left to Right)

Staircase 1 ~ Troia Treasure Room
Staircase 2 ~ Some storage room, [Bacchus] in the Pot under the stairs.
Staircase 3 ~ Jackpot

Jackpot? Heh, simply enough you could call this a smaller version of the Troia Treasure Room, 4 sets of double chests to access them its a simple process, step on that button in the middle of the room and the Wall will open up (keep going back and forth to open all the doors if you want, lol) to reveal the goodies. In no order you will get [Tent x2, HiPotion x2, Ether x2, RubyRing x2] Pretty nice eh? Your business in the castle is now officially over for now. Head back outside the Castle and into the Town of Troia (or, before you leave you can chat to some of those girls near the Clerical chamber entrance/exit, get some funny responses lol.). Basic little town, no need to chat to any NPC's at all, go straight into the Itemshop and stock up on Potions because they'll come in handy (instead of say, draining all of Tellah's MP for healing.).

Potion ~ 30g
MaidKiss ~ 60g
Life ~ 100g
Soft ~ 400g
EchoNote ~ 50g
Eyedrops ~ 30g
Antidote ~ 40g
Tent ~ 100g

But in some respects the standard Potions may not help too much. If you are in dire urge of HiPotions you can head back to Mysidia or Baron to get some, otherwise just head on over to the other shops you have to browse. Armour shop first.

Leather Helmet ~ 100g
Feather Helmet ~ 330g
Clothes ~ 50g
Leather Armour ~ 200g
RubyRing ~ 1000g

All you really need to get here is a pair of RubyRings.. BUT, since you have already raided that treasure room you already have 2. But Cid there only has 1 piece of equip from the Baron incident, get a RubyRing then head back to Baron. Why head back to Baron you say? the Armour shop there has 2 items of armour that are more powerful then any of that Troia shit (it has a Silver Armlet, but that's metal and will weigh you down in the Magnes Cave). So buy a Kenpo and Headband for our old Cid, and while your there buy 2 FireClaw's for Yang, because everything in the Cave Magnes (besides a few monsters, I suppose) are weak vs. Fire. After all that screwing around, head back to Troia and you can check out the Weapons Shop if you so wish.

Wooden Mallet ~ 80g
GreatBow ~ 2000g
Fire Arrows ~ 30g (each)
Ice Arrows ~ 30g (each)
Bolt Arrows ~ 30g (each)

Already have the Wooden Mallet equipped on Cid, and Bow & Arrows suck on everybody bar Rosa, so don't waste your money (NOTE: You should head back over to Mist Village and pillage some treasure, the Change Rod in particular.. and maybe the [Tiara, Clothes, RubyRing] aswell, I'll explain how to get to them at a later date.) And this is the end of your errands in Troia Town, now go outside and Save your progress so you don't have to do all that again.

Troia Region.

Monsters - Panther, StingRat, Treant, Cannibal

After the Save (providing you did, that is) you can now proceed North for a short while until you come across a set of forest which is on its own, circular in shape. This my friend is a Chocobo Forest, and what you need to do is get yourself a Black Chocobo so what are you waiting for? try and catch one. While your in there you can catch a White Chocobo and refill your MP. (again, providing you need to) Once you have a Black Chocobo, ride it East for a while and then a tiny bit South so you can get yourself over the nearby Island and land near the cave entrance, use a Tent if need be and go right on in to our next little area filled with fun and excitement.

Monsters - Cave Bat, Ogre, Panther, Mage, CaveNaga, Python, VampGirl

You know what? I fucking hate this cave during the first half, due to the restrictions you have. Pretty simple to navigate though I must say, as soon as you enter you will find them talking about the Magnetic field that's in effect, should have no worries with Cid, Tellah and Yang to do the assaulting. Alot of the monsters down here have a weakness vs. something, so I'll do another nifty list.

Cave Bat ~ Holy, Projectiles (Absorbs Thunder)
Ogre ~ Holy
Panther ~ Holy
Mage ~ None
CaveNaga ~ Holy
Python ~ Ice, Holy
VampGirl ~ Fire, Holy (Absorbs Thunder)

Keep on walking East (don't go down that bridge just yet) and you will find yourself infront of a chest [HiPotion] within, now you may proceed back and South across the bridge and just follow the general path baby. You will soon see a rock formation with a entrance at the top of it, proceed around and go past the exit, another chest [Unihorn], yum. Now go through the exit to the next floor. Go West a few clicks then go straight on North then head back to the West above the chasm and get to that chest, [Ether], proceed up that bridge you saw in the middle of the other gap, then go East and you will see a door. Its a basic treasure room, has [Ether, 2000g] inside, so grab them if you want. All that being said and done, go direct to the West and find yourself another exit, by all means go on through to the next floor. As soon as you come to the next floor you will see a door directly to the West, go check it out, its a Save Point so go use it. I'd say its more for the tent, then a save, heh. Back out you go and head across the bridge South/East, another rocky formation and another room where some more chests reside. [HiPotion, Silk Web, HrGlass1].

Move along West and go directly North through the rock formations (looks like a tunnel, with a few holes in it, lol.) and enter the next floor. Straight ahead we have a chest, hoorah! [Fairy] within (Claw for Yang), continue South/West to find another exit. Say hello to the final floor of this damn cave, follow the bridge to your North/East until you see 4 torches from there you can head due East into a room, has a Save Point, so go in and use it if you so wish. On a personal scale you *might* want to skip the opportunity since you get a full heal during the next battle, goto the next door but don't go in yet.. go around the rocks and get into that chest. [Exit], w00t. NOW you can go through the entrance.. Crystal room eh? go North and find yourself the Dark Elf. As you would assume you gotta fight him, so no need to delay.

Doesn't look like an Elf does he?

Funny thing about the first battle, you *cant* win it. So don't bother trying, let him pummel you to the ground as he is invincible with the magnetic field up. With your party slaughtered a cut-scene occurs with Edward, he senses that the party is in danger and gets out of his bed to play a melody. Low and behold his melody is mirrored into that TwinHarp he gave you. And promptly after the magnetic seal around the cave vanishes! hooray! Now you can face the damned Dark Elf on equal ground. So go back up to the bastard and beat his face in.

Care to notice the insane damage that Cecil does now? its quite amusing to see the Dark Elf so vulnerable isn't it >=) hehe. The Dark Elf's magic is also at zero power, so that Fire2/Bolt2/Ice2 attack he uses does sweet fuck all damage, so the battle is severely in your favour. Some things you may want to know for this first half of the battle though;

~ He casts Wind, which puts 1 characters HP into a single digit, so as soon as that happens you may want to hit them with a HiPotion. Due to the weak power of his spells at this time a HiPotion is all you need to heal from that Wind spell.
~ Bacchus or Bersk will be your best friend, use it on Cecil and you'll see what I mean.

After you abuse him for a while, hmm.. he just transformed into another monster.

Sorry sorry sorry, dont rape me.

EXP: 6000

This should be interesting. He actually packs quite a punch now, which isn't very good at all. Also something very important to bare in mind.

~ This time he casts D.Wind, which hits all characters for quite a high amount of damage, so after he does this I'd be giving Tellah an Ether (if he needed one that is) and casting Cure3 or 4 (depending on how low everyone's HP is) to cover your ass. He casts this VERY OFTEN so beware.
~ His attack pattern is easy. Attack - D.Breath - Attack - D.Breath.

*Heh, I was a little bit too headstrong here and I DIDN'T save in that last Save Point mentioned above, low and behold I was slaughtered shortly after Tellah fell -.- so.. I chose another path to take, I got Cecil and Yang another 2 levels so I may have a better chance this time around, I also went and purchased alot of HiPotions, Tents and Lifes. So the battle was swayed my way (thanks to Bacchus) the second attempt and boom, no more Dark Elf. XD*

After the battle is won and sweat is shed, believe me when I say your journey out of the cave will be much more easier then your travels in. As I have noted in the set of monsters above just about every single monster in this cave is Weak vs. Holy, and you know what Cecil's Sword is? Holy. Booyah, just watch the EXP rain down upon you and don't forget to re-equip all your other equipment. Alternatively you COULD use that Exit item you picked up outside the Crystal Room entrance, but eh, You cant deny all the yummy exp for the journey back out can you? mmm. If you need directions to get out I'll be slapping you good so just make your way out of the cave, hop back on the Black Chocobo, and go back into Troia Castle and chat to the 8 Clerics. Promptly after you chat to the 8 fine ladies you get a voice that comes out of no-where, relating to that Crystal for Rosa deal so eh, the 8 Clerics agree to let you keep the crystal as its for a better cause. (isn't that nice of them.)

Ok, here is where you can go talk to Edward back in the West wing of the Castle, he mentions about the melody he played and that it attacks Dark Elves. Etc etc, your not interested in his tales now because you have some Treasure to pillage, since you now has permission to enter the Treasure vault in the East wing of the castle. So head on over and prepare to wet yourself as to how many damn chests their are (18 o.o). And what is within (in no particular order)... [HiPotion x2, Remedy x2, Ether1 x2, Ether2 x2, Elixir, EchoNote x2, GreatBow, Fire Arrows x2, Ice Arrows x2, Bolt Arrows, Ag Apple] o.O... thanks a heap ^^ w00t. Shall we be off then? head back to Troia Town and use the Inn (if you need to, that is) then go board your Airship. (well, you might want to Save your progress first, incase of a fuckup) Here we have the next part of out adventure.. You are greeted by Kain and the Red Wings, whom after a short scene take you to...

Monsters ~ Ice Liz, Gremlin, Centaur, Carapace, Slime, Puppet, Marion, SwordMan, IceBeast, EpeeGirl

Ive always wondered how the hell a tower floats in the sky (maybe, thick clouds?) but regardless, the tower is up there and its your duty to fight through it. You get a short speech from Golbez upon your arrival (and about trading the Crystal for Rosa), at latter of the argument.. Cecil "She had better be safe" Golbez "You had better hurry".. heh, all well and done lets get on with this racket? A monster elemental weakness chart follows.

Ice Liz ~ Fire (occasional Petrify casting)
Gremlin ~ Fire (counters magic with Charm?)
Centaur ~ None
Carapace ~ Ice
FlameDog ~ Ice
Slime ~ Fire
Puppet ~ Fire
Marion ~ None
SwordMan ~ Fire, Holy (counter attacks magic w/ Curse ~ regular attacks; Absorb)
IceBeast ~ Fire
EpeeGirl ~ None
Witch ~ None

So anyway, a quick tip before you venture too much further. EQUIP YANG WITH a FireClaw and IceClaw!! he will kill just about every single monster on this tower in one hit, 2 at the most if its a back attack or ambushed, heh. On with some basic directions? as soon as you are able to control your characters, head due North/West and follow the trail up, when you hit the end of the road go West to land yourself a chest [Flame Armour], equip it on Cecil and move on to the East and keep on walking (NOTE: Cecil tends to take more damage from the Flame attack that those FlameDog's deal out, being Flame armour and all it ups the effects, heh, so keep it in mind.), you'll see the exit to the next level so go through it. Ok, in this part some people may get confused so try follow the instructions carefully.. go South until you can see the first West path, take the West path until you hit your first wall (which gives you the choice to head North).. don't go North, go South. ^^ Make your way South and you will reach the bottom wall easily.

Upon hitting the Southern wall you now head due West until you see your first North, go North and you'll land yourself a chest.. [Flame Sword], but you'll have to fight a FlameDog to get it but it should be no hassle, use any normal battle strats you got because these guys are Weak vs. Ice. Make your way back South a bit then East and take the way North to the next level exit. Now, this 3rd is level is completely linear.. why? all you need to do is walk around the outer rim and you will reach the exit, don't be fooled by going into the middle of twisting tunnel's as it takes you about twice the time to get to the exit. Here is an interesting floor to dabble in.. 4 exits? hmm.. Make your way South and go East, you will come across an exit North. Take it and you will see 3 exits, I'd recommend going from West to East, and then out the South/East exit in the room you are currently standing in. I don't need to give you any directions for these 3 doors as they are so damn simple to get through that its not funny. Why aren't I giving you directions? heh, all of these exits go straight to chests.

[HellClaw, Flame Shield] in the first door (have to walk south somewhat for that Shield though), [Gaia Mallet] in the second (equip it on Cid), then [Wizard Armour] on the far East door (not sure what to classify it as... Armour? Robe? Vest? equip it on Tellah for the time being).. can I hear a vote of "Lets get the fuck out already"? heh, I agree. Head back South then head East and hit the exit, new floor! huzzah! -.- once out of the exit and back onto the floor of where the previously mentioned treasures were, there is a room around the corner. Please go in there and use a Tent before the party dies, unless there are some already dead then it doesn't account to them. Heh. Save your Progress too or I'll beat you like a bitch, when you are ready proceed back outside and go towards the next exit (due North/West) but hm.. seems 3 little girls want to stop you.. gasp! its the Magus Sisters!

Atleast the FFX trio was a challenge.

Alright, you seen these groupies in Final Fantasy 10 haven't you? heh, they may be pretty much impossible to beat on that game, but back here where they are founded they really aren't very tough at all. Infact I can openly say that they are pussies (well, they technically are being female and all XD) due to the ease of the battle but it may not be the case all the time. On with the battle shall we?

~ Sandy casts Wall on Cindy.
~ Cindy deals a regular attack. (piss all damage, I might add, heh)
~ Mindy casts various elemental spells on Cindy, since she has Wall up it bounces onto party.
~ Rinse and repeat.

Side Note ~ Mindy resorts to Level 1 Elemental Spells once her sisters are down.

So... what do you do? in simple terms. KILL THE FAT BITCH (Cindy) since she is the "Reviver" of the group, if one of the other girls gets killed before she does, ding! you'll see the girl you just killed come back zombie style.. minus the undead thing. But while your killing Cindy? don't cast spells directly at her since it'll be thrown back at you, rather you can play that little game too with the Wall. Cast it on one of your party members, and cast Fire3 on them, see which girl gets lucky? heh heh. You should kill them in this order though ~ Cindy, Sandy, Mindy. Should be simple enough I'd think, one thing I found amusing though is that they call it "Delta Attack" for some reason, when its only a reflected spell.. correct me if im wrong but isn't Delta Attack usually a petrifying thing? or an instant kill? lmao.

Recommended course of action now? go back to the Save point and use a Tent, your next battle will probably beat you round the head, and Save your progress so you don't have to sodomize those Sisters again. Once your finished up, go through that door the Magus Sisters were blocking you from, this is the final floor but here is something I always do.. and it'll benefit Rosa. Unequip Tellah of all his things, some you will use, some you wont. But the things you *dont* use you can sell, more gil = happy party. If you dont wanna do that, then that's all good.. continue around to the bridge and you'll be greeted by Golbez. He pisses off the party by saying that there is no Rosa, she is dead, bwuhahaha! too bad Tellah decides to jump in and stop the cheery conversation.

As you may remember, his daughter was killed because of Golbez..... so, he attempts to lay the smackdown on Golbez with a whole range of spells that deal Golbez next to no damage. Tellah gets tired of his commentary and casts Meteo, which beats Golbez around the head like a bitch and the battle ends..... so does Tellah, old bastard was too old to cast it. Another tiny scene occurs where Cecil is blasted across the room by Golbez, but it doesn't do much so Golbez leaves the room and takes the crystal with him, Kain was knocked out by Meteo so he leaves him behind. After the old bastard dies you can no proceed on with the game, you cant exit the room until you talk to Kain (literally, the doors are locked, heh) and get him to help save Rosa from a trap. Another scene endures where Cecil & Rosa decide to make out infront of everyone, Kain is a bit jealous but he doesn't exactly jump at Cecil and stab him for it. So they throw all the emotion away and get on with it.

What you NEED to do now is, equip Rosa with the good stuff. Remember back in Troia you got a GreatBow and about 60 bolts? (Fire, Ice, Bolt) eh? eh? give them to Rosa (remember, put the GreatBow on her left hand, arrows on right, higher attack power) so she can assist more in the battle ahead. If you removed all of Tellah's equipment you can hook her up with those too, she only starts with a "Prisoner Robe" equipped, so hmm? lets just remove that shall we. All setup? great, lets get the hell out of here..

Hold on a second, we have another boss battle.. Valvalis wasn't too impressed with Kain's actions so she decides to wage war upon the party...

Damn! She is hot... ehh..

Valvalis
HP: 8636
MP: 539
Att: 88
Def: 0
EXP: 9000
GIL: 5500

You have 8000+ HP to shave down here, so try do it ASAP because this battle is a tad itchy, so lets summary this bitch.

~ First thing Valvalis will do is create an effective "Wind Shield" in the sense of a shield. Lowers the damage you deal out to her, Valvalis can also recast this at anytime.
~ Kain with his Jump breaks the Wind Shield down, use Jump often.
~ Valvalis casts Wind on a random character (reduces HP to single digits).
Uses "Glare" which is a gradual Petrify, takes 3 casts to make the user Petrified. (Soft cures)

Rosa's best use here is to be a generic White Mage, just cure everyone every turn, they'll need it. I had Cecil use a Bacchus so he couldn't Cover anyone, heh. If you just have everyone attack as per normal and remember to have Kain use his Jump every single turn, you'll be fine. A simple battle has been won, after Valvalis is defeated she decides to make the tower collapse with her, damn stubborn bitch isn't she? so Rosa tells the party to hang on as she casts Exit and the party ends up in Cecil's room! (which is back in Baron) so.. erm.. w00t? free recovery is always a good thing too. Upon arriving there is another scene where they are talking about the Dark Crystals that are Underground "we must get them!" yeah yeah, we get the idea. The room is yours for the night and you may start fresh.

Since the King isn't in town anymore, there's a little something you can do while your back in Baron. Head to the East wing of the Castle and you'll get your hands on some treasure. Down the walkway to the Eastern courtyard there's a switch that opens you a shiny door, walk on through and follow the trail where you can get your hands on 6 chests. [Ether1 x2, Unihorn x2, Life x2], handy. You should also head to the courtyard and North to that castle tower and get all the chests that are inside. I'll just do a complete list, these aren't just in chests, there are pots too they are easy as shit to plunder. [Hermes x2, Bacchus x2, Elixir, HiPotion x2, Ether1 x2, Tent x2] mmm.. ok, enough of this thievery (as fun as it is) and get on with the game. At this time I would suggest you Save your progress incase you want to fly around like a lunatic before continuing to our next destination.

But I'm going to insert an optional little piece of text here, so its your call to follow it up.. otherwise just keep on going baby.

Errands

Here you can find yourself a few handy items that you will find in handy, well.. maybe not ALL of them but some of them will, heh. Remember the Town of Mist? jump in your Airship and head on over, land outside and head on into the town. Walk through until you come into the open, then go directly North into that house.. its empty? hmm. Take note of the fireplace, that's "empty" too so take up the space and walk into it, then take a East turn and you will find yourself in a secret area. [Tiara, Clothes, RubyRing].. that's not all folks, if you continue East there's ANOTHER path which leads you to the last chest in the house. [Change Rod], let me tell you this.. this rod is very handy in battle, you can use it as an item at the enemies and turn the target into a Pig (same effect as the spell Piggy) but the Rod is much more successful then the actual spell.

Who should you equip these items on? well, I collected these when I had Tellah in the group back at Troia so I gave him the Change Rod, he cant equip the Tiara since its a female only item. (damn sexist! lmao) Its best to hold onto both items however, this is exactly why I Unequip characters before they leave the party as it benefits you in the long run. The town yields a few more treasures, exit the house and go directly East into that clump of grass, there's a hidden chest so keep hitting the X button and you'll get yourself a [Bomb], now go all the way South until you come across a well on the side of the Armour Shop, go East and you'll find yourself in a secret passage. Make your way around into that small field of grass and the top 2 squares of it are chests. [Bomb x2].. What's with all the Bombs? damn. Check out the Weapon/Armour shops if you like;

Bard Robe ~ 70g

Hmm.. Edward left the group long ago so that shop be useless. Funnily enough everyone in the party can equip it, lol.

Whip ~ 3000g
Dancing Knife ~ 5000g

Now this is an interesting selection isn't it? at this point of the game the Whip has no purpose but you can have fun with that Dancing Knife. The main feature of that Knife I believe, is that it inflicts random status ailments to the monsters you hit so its open to experimentation, its got a low attack power so go abuse some stronger monsters and see what results you get.

Aside from the'ol Mist, you can head over to Mythril Village. To get there you can either go directly South from Fabul, or head due East from Baron then North once you get sight of land. Go right on in but hmm.. its full of animals? what in the fuck? you can even talk to them but you dont really need to do any of that nonsense, heh. What you want to do is head on up to the Weapons / Armour shop.

Mythril Staff ~ 4000g
Mythril Dagger ~ 3000g
Mythril Mallet ~ 8000g
Mythril Sword ~ 6000g

Under the impression that they are uber right? well its quite the opposite in a sense. All this Mythril weaponry is kind-of outdated to a few characters but may be handy to others. So its your call to buy anything but what they have equipped now should suffice (in my game, atleast, you may have a different setup altogether).. over to the Armour Shop.

Mythril Shield ~ 1000g
Mythril Helmet ~ 3000g
Mythril Armour ~ 17000g (fuck!)
Mythril Gauntlet ~ 2000g

Whoa, that's quite pricey armour they got there. Kain came already-equipped with all the Mythril Equipment you will ever need, so it leaves the option open to buy it for someone else. Namely Cecil, if you are like me and still has his Paladin Tiara & Gauntlet still equipped, you may want to swap them around for Mythril. It'll give him that little bit more Defense but that is what he excels at so yeah. From your adventure up the Tower of Zot he may still have some of that Flame Armour equipped, but there was no Helmet or Gauntlets swiped from chests now were there? boo. Replace his old equip with Mythril if you so wish, you can always re-purchase the Paladin equipment at Mysidia anyway. It wouldn't hurt to buy a Mythril Gauntlet for Cid either, I still had a RubyRing on him and that's shit in comparison to Mythril. A quick summary if you will.

RubyRing ~ Def / 0 .. Mag / +3
Mythril ~ Def / +6 .. Mag / +2

Your call. Itemshop has a tiny collection so I wont bother listing it.. however, the fine Mythril town has 3 chests for you to plunder. [5000g] can be found directly above the Weapon / Armour shop within the patch of grass. Continue East along the upper track and in that small patch of grass is a [Mythril Dagger], last but not least we have a [Mythril Staff] due South then East around that building with the open door. In the tiny patch of Grass. If you want a little bit extra cash, go sell these newly found items.. but you may want to keep that Staff handy for Rosa, given the Ammunition for her Bow runs dry and your too lazy to get more.

Right then, lets get on par with the actual story.

Island/Town of Agart

Looks like a simple little hick village eh? the only actual thing you need do in this town is advance the story, but you can check out the Weapons Shop and get your hands on some Holy Arrows or a Boomrang. Otherwise, no shops in this town are of any use due to the out-dated items they offer. So that being said, head to the center of town and enter that enclosed area which opens to be... a Well. The old guy outside the entrance mentions about its depths being unknown so why not jump down? interact with the Well and use the Magma Key.. whoa fuck, earthquake! And damn, the mountain range nearby has decided to chew its own ass in.. there's now a big hole for you to fly into so dont delay. Saving your progress before you go down the hole might be wise though.

When you enter the hole in the mountain range you automatically go into a scene with the Red Wings and some kind of Tanks.. pretty evenly matched it seems but of all the things Cid decides to do, he goes right through the front lines to attempt to get to their next destination. (is it just me.. or is that the OPPOSITE to what anyone would want to do? lmao) As you can imagine, in the process of doing so the Enterprise gets shot to the shithouse and they crash land outside of the Dwarven Castle.. you could enter there straight away, or venture around and fight monsters in this newly found place. You are better off just rocking on in and getting on with it. (NOTE: Unequip Cid of all his items so you can sell them, this is the last time he is in your party so dont put those items to waste.)

Dwarven Castle

Heeey, classy looking castle.. even has Lava for rivers, lol, quite... different. Just shoot straight on North through all the doors you see along the way you will end up in the Throne Room. Upon entering you automatically chat to King Giott whom you state your business to but something doesn't seem right... according to Yang, whom sense's an evil presence behind the walls of the room. So Giott orders that the Crystal Room door be opened so the team can rush on in. And in they go, only to face a bunch of Dolls but these aren't normal little children's playtoys. These dolls want your blood, so how about we take theirs instead? heh heh.

Childsplay.. no, really.

EXP: 5000
GIL: 12000

Ugly little fuckers aren't they?

Cecil just attack everything you see, focus on the Brina since they have lower HP then the Cal.
Kain
Jump on those Cal, they got more HP then Brina. Alternatively you can jump on the Brina's to simply kill them all off quicker but whatever works best.
Yang
on the same duties as Cecil, just pound the hell out of anything you target.
Rosa
does what she does best, Curing. The occasional Blink on herself and other party members is always handy to do, makes for less healing in the long run.

Now for this... thing.. Calbrina has quite a few little perks, some of which annoy me quite a bit. With 5315 HP to chew it may take a while considering your levels. You may be higher or lower then mine so its a random guess I suppose.

~ Uses the Glare ability, which I found does nothing at all. Or if it has some effect, it didn't effect any of my characters.
~ Can cast Hold, not very effective but when it is successful its a burden.
~ Unites, then Splits back into dolls when HP is low.
~ KEEP YOUR HP UP, this thing hits hard (well, its random but the first attack it did hit Yang for 899 and he had 1432 HP >.>)

Huzzah, battle won.. 4500 exp if you have all 4 party members alive and well. [note to self: Yang/Rosa leveled] But as the dolls die off, call you a bully, then vanish they tell Golbez of your location and guess what? Golbez warps in to say hello, and he explains why he is gathering all the Light/Dark Crystals to serve his purpose. To open up a path to the Moon via reactivating the Tower of Babil where eternal power awaits, sounds pretty nice eh? too bad he wants to kill you before you get the chance to say anything else.

Say hello to my little friend.

Boss ~ Golbez, Shadow

Can't do much, if anything for the first duration of the battle. So I may aswell talk you through it, Golbez has 100% evade here so you really cant do anything to him at all, he makes a comment about feeble your powers are at the time and that he expected more from you. At which time he casts a Hold Gas which hits all party members and immobilizes all of them from taking any action, not very good neh? he then summons forth Shadow which is a Dragon of the sort... Shadow uses the Demolish ability which is a KO move, he hits every member besides Cecil as Golbez makes a cheap remark and that evil "I'll kill you now, bwuhahaha" kind of line. When all of a sudden..

Mist Dragon, what the? slaughters Shadow like the bitch it is and gives Golbez quite a kicking. He is quite surprised about his Shadow vanishing to some Mist. Cecil all of a sudden gets Esuna cast on him (isn't prompted like the actual spell is) and he can move.. a voice say's you can move now, and here we have Rydia again. Hooray! On with the battle, Golbez is weak as piss so he goes down pretty quick.. he still hits you with a few spells though. Namely (well, all the spells he cast against me anyway)

Bio, Bolt3, Fire2 ~ in that sequence.

Owned, 7500 exp, 11000 gil. Another hooray. And how about this eh, you got Rydia back with her new army of Summons and Black Magic as she focused on her Black Magic when she was in the Land of Summons, thus her White Magic faded away over time I guess. More chatter goes on and Rydia joins the party, as you attempt to leave you get a prompt from Golbez who says "I can never die!" or something of the sort, so all of a sudden his body vanishes and his hand walks around like a rat and grabs the crystal. So win or lose, the crystal gets stolen anyway. Heh, isn't that just fucking great? But never you mind its not the end of the world, you appear infront of King Giott and explains the situation. They then devise a plan to get to the next Crystal which is a diversion so your party can slip in, sounds like some sneaky shit homes so lets get on with it.

But as per always, there is alot of treasure spread amongst the Dwarven Castle so I'd suggest you take the time to scout around and snatch it all. Head down to the entrance hall before the Throne room, and head to the West of the room.. you'll be in the Inn/Itemshop (stock up on some items while your there too), continue your walk West and you'll be inside the Western Tower, here is where our treasure hunt begins. Nothing on the first floor, so jog up the stairs and amongst those Pots you'll find [Bacchus], its around the back of the group and there's a hidden path its simple enough to find. Up the next set of stairs we have 4 chests! [HiPotion, Elixir, Ether1, BlkBelt] As mentioned before there are hidden paths to get to all of these and they are so simple to find, just do a few directions on the Controller and you'll find yourself going through walls lol. Those chests out of the way, head back down the Tower and exit through the door to the South.

Now your on the balcony of the Castle, you could say. Make your way East and you'll come upon the Eastern Tower, enter and continue your treasure pilfering. Due North is a Chest around the other side of the stairway [Dwarf Axe], head up the stairs and in another pot you'll find [Bacchus], again the pot is around the back of the West collection of pots, find the secret path. Up the stairs and we have a replica of the previous room, except the secret paths are a bit different... navigate around the room and you'll get [Ether1, Elixir, HrGlass2, Strength Ring] from all the chests. At this point I'd be equipping that BlkBelt on Yang but the Strength Ring... really doesn't help *that* much so it'll be a personal preference here. All done, get the hell out of the Eastern Tower.. but not out the door, go down the stairs to the East of the Exit and you'll find yourself in the Weapons/Armour shop (aswell as 2 Item shop's).

Here is the good shit folks. I'll list both shops then give recommendations.

Armour;

Flame Shield ~ 1250g
Flame Armour ~ 30000g (fucking damn!)
Wizard Cap ~ 2000g
Wizard Robe ~ 1200g
Rune Gauntlet ~ 2000g

Weapons;

Dwarf Axe ~ 15000g
GreatBow ~ 2000g
Darkness Arrow ~ 40g (for each arrow, 3960g for 99)
Flame Sword ~ 14000g
Fire Spear ~ 11000g

Interesting selection we have here. Shall I just make a list of what who should have what? heh. You dont need to worry about getting a Dwarf Axe or GreatBow, since you got the Dwarf Axe for free in one of the towers and Rosa should have the GreatBow equipped from the Tower of Zot, heh.

Cecil, honestly doesn't need any new equipment from this place. I hope you got your Helm and Hands upped to Mythril, because again you have to wait a long while before any new Helm/Hand items. From Zot he should already have these equipped;
~ Flame Sword
~ Flame Shield
~ Flame Armour
You CAN purchase Wizard Robe/Cap, Rune Gauntlet for him.. but he loses Defense and gains Magic Defense.. which doesn't help him too much, he needs Defense not Magic.

Kain, is filled with Mythril Equipment and a Wind Spear. So personally I'd just get that Fire Spear for him. If you have some money to blast, get him both the Flame Armour and Shield, otherwise you can survive without them quite easily. I'd sell off his old Wind Spear for some extra cash, doesn't have any use from here-in and it lacks Attack in comparison.

Rosa, Wizard Cap (If you got the Tiara from Mist Village, don't bother with a Wiz Cap), Rune Gauntlet, Wizard Robe (if you don't already have it from Zot, I had it so I saved a bit of money). And about 50 of those Darkness Arrows (2000g all up) so she can make more use of herself.. she isn't attacking too often but it always helps to keep some backup.

Rydia, Wizard Cap, Wizard Robe, Rune Gauntlet. She is initially equipped with;
~ GaiaGear
~ Silver Gauntlet
So you'd best give her some goodies, err.. BETTER goodies.

Yang, Rune Gauntlet. There, wasn't too hard was it? XD Alternatively you could equip that Strength Ring but it gives lesser Defense aside from the Str. +5. And make sure you give him that BlkBelt you found earlier in the Tower.

Itemshop 1;

Soft ~ 400g
MaidKiss ~ 60g
Mallet ~ 80g
DietFood ~ 100g
EchoNote ~ 50g
Eyedrops ~ 30g
Antidote ~ 40g
Cross ~ 100g

Itemshop 2; (Dwarf running back and forth)

Life ~ 100g
Potion ~ 30g
HiPotion ~ 150g
Tent ~ 100g
Cabin ~ 500g
EagleEye ~ 100g
Gyshal ~ 50g
Remedy ~ 5000g

All done kids? great, lets be off then (you could go in-between the Weapons/Armour shop to get some laughs but whatever does it for you. Just watch yourself in the Developers room, which is located in the South/East corner of the Pub you enter... I'll touch on this later though). Go outside and Save your progress (I always do before I jump into new areas full of yummy monsters) then head on down the stairs to the North/West corner of the Weapons/Armour shops. Keep walking West until you see a lone Dwarf near the cupboard. (you can get your hands on 3 Gyshal Green's in those pots above the stairs and use the Fat Chocobo to store some Items.) Talk to him and he will open the wall for you. Proceed in to find yourself at the Dwarven Base. Proceed down to your West, when you come upon 2 guards you continue South a touch then head East, 3 chests are there. [Cabin x3] they will come in handy. Go back South/West and down those stairs.

Just keep going to your West, nothing important in here. You may want to take note of that Pot in the last little section of the Base, it refills your HP/MP for free so... I'd be running back to use it if your nearby and almost get slaughtered. And speaking of getting slaughtered you may finally head out into the wilderness one more.. Welcome to the Underworld!

Monsters ~ Armadilo, Tortoise, BlackLiz, Dark Imp, RocLarva, RockMoth, TrapRose, Medusa, Gorgon, Stoneman, Talantla

Armadilo ~ None
Tortoise ~ Ice
BlackLiz ~ Ice
Dark Imp ~ None
RocLarva ~ None (counters regular attacks with Slow and Psych)
RockMoth ~ Projectiles (uses Powder ability, causes Darkness to one party member)
TrapRose ~ Fire
Medusa ~ None (Glare, gradual petrify)
Gorgon ~ None
Stoneman ~ Ice
Talantla ~ Projectiles (GaiaRage, same as Quake but weaker)

Word of advice here, if you still have FireClaw and IceClaw in your inventory.. do yourself a favour and equip them on Yang as he'll be much more effective down here with the elemental attacks (alternatively you could equip him with the Fairy and HellClaw.. Venom and Confuse. Heh heh). But on with the show, I believe its pretty damn straight forward to get to the Tower of Babil so just keep walking on North/West (making sure you dont take any of those little false detours) and then North once you hit an opening with strokes of Lava on it. Check it out yo, the Tanks are busting up the Tower good so this is where you come in and infiltrate the Tower. Booyah!

Tower of Babil

More Towers.. UGH.

Monsters ~ Marion, EvilDoll, FlameDog, Tortoise, Dark Imp, BlackLiz, FlameMan, Chimera, Egg, Naga, Tofu, Alert

Marion ~ None
EvilDoll ~ None
FlameDog ~ Ice (uses Flame attack, massive damage to all characters, cant be dodged.)
Tortoise ~ Ice
Dark Imp ~ None
Alert ~ None (counter attacks with Beam, hits you for the first 3 Digits of your Max HP.)
BlackLiz ~ Ice (counter attacks with Petrify, gradual version)
Stoneman ~ Ice
FlameMan ~ Ice
Chimera ~ None (strong vs. all elements I should add, uses Blaze attack simular to Flame)
Egg ~ Ice/None (hatches random monster)
Naga ~ None (uses Tongue attack, same as Sleep spell)
Tofu ~ Ice
Medusa ~ None (Uses Glare attack, same as gradual Petrify)

Lots of shiny scenery eh? Upon entering just keep jogging North until you see the option to go either East or West, go directly West and you'll find a chest [Ice Arrows], directly South of it is another. [Ice Arrows], head back to the crossroad and following the waving path around and find another chest [Ether1]. Off to the next floor. Cruise directly East and plunder the chest [Bandanna], then head South and you will see a door so go right on in... hmm? a chest, lets take a look. [IceSpear] with an Alert to defeat, should be a pushover as the Alert just summons monsters when you attack it, heres a tip; Let it summon over and over again, the EXP stacks up. Heh heh. Around the corner and you'll see yet another door (East of the exit to the next level) and we face the same scenario. [IceBrand] at the expensive of an Alert and his summons. With these new Weapons pillaged, lets goto the next floor (West of the door you were just in) and have some gut slashing fun.

There are 2 ways you can go from here (but first open that chest [CatClaw] right next to the entrance) so I'd say go North/East, then South to find yourself another chest. [HiPotion], then swing back around South and you'll find another chest [Life] at the South end of the level. Now you want to head through that door you just passed to get that chest, enter to find yourself in a small-ish treasure room (on the next floor, I should add). [Archer Bow] on the West side, [Notus] on the East side. Back to where you were and go around the North end of the level, then South/West-ish and you'll see another exit so lets go off to the next level. I'd recommend you go directly into that door to the West and use that Save Point.. last thing you want to do is go up all those damn levels again. Back out of the Save Point room you push on North and follow that Bridge across to your East, take that route South and enter the first door you see alas! another chest! same scenario as our Alert chests earlier on, sigh. [IceShld] is gained from this one, so equip it on either Cecil or Kain it doesn't really effect your defense *that* much overall. The door to the East of the room you got your shield, is empty, so dont waste your time.

Instead, backtrack North and go into this other door you see. Guess what? another Alert chest. -.- you get some [IceArmor] from it, tally ho! again it doesn't really matter if you equip it on either Cecil or Kain, so make the call and move on. Back out and take the bridge that is above the one you used to get here, due West you go through the next level exit. New level (damn, too many levels for this fuckin tower, grr) so you can head South (take the path North too, gets a chest with [Boreas] inside) and continue your journey Eastward and then swing North (not up that bridge, its a dead-end.) through the exit. Go East before the exit and South to get a chest [HiPotion]... 6th level is simple, just go West and you got an exit! yay! upon entering the next level you should run East and into the door, another Save Point awaits you. (USE IT!!) So head back and around to the South, across the small bridge to the West you'll find a [Ether2], then you dash East and go through the next exit..

LAST FUCKING LEVEL!! YES!! *cough* err.. yeah, just take yourself around the South/West path and you'll run into a scene with Dr.Lugae and Rubicant. The good Doc wishes Rubicant a safe trip after he mentions Eblan and its Ninja's being decimated, aww. After the Fiend vanishes the Doctor parties because he is all alone now, heh, who wouldn't? Rydia makes a comment and the Doc see's the party, and here we go into another Boss battle.

Ehh, crazy old man.

Boss ~ Dr.Lugae, Balnab

This battle is.. odd, to a degree. At the beginning of the battle he screws around and Balnab attacks him.. its quite a show, but all in all you should focus on Dr.Lugae all out until he dies. Just pound Balnab as you would any other monster and try kill him quick since he'll use "Detonate" which hits you for how much HP he has left (hell, hit Kain for 3560 dmg in my game >.>) and that's the end of Round 1. Once his precious machine is down and out for the count, he decides to get serious and transform. Enter the Lugaborg.

What the hell..

28

29

29 29

Boss ~ Lugaborg

~ Start of battle he uses a Venom attack which, as it sounds casts Venom on the entire party.
~ Shoots a Beam quite often, hits for 10% of your Max HP.
~ Also has Laser, which hits a single member for massive damage.
~ Emission, Fire attack vs. all characters, very weak.
~ Crazy bastard uses Heal, gets rid of that Venom he cast earlier.
~ Gas ability, same effect as the Sleep spell, 1 Character.

So basically;

Kain ~ Jump every turn.
Cecil ~ Use your Sword and poke him good.
Rosa ~ Cure2 Blink Cure2 Cure2 Life1 Cure2 Blink
Yang ~ Attack as per normal, use Power if you want to it does some nice damage.
Rydia ~ Bio as much as you can, failing that throw Titan at him.

Battle should be done in a few mins, give or take. In my game I had an additional 2 KO's during this battle, Cecil and Yang, the main damage dealers of the group -.-... Dr.Lugae mentions that the Main Cannon on the tower has already been activated so you're too late. Gasp! big fucking whoop, we kicked your ass so we can stop a cannon, damn. anyway, with that battle over what you need do is very simple, head back down a floor and use that Save Point (I'd recommend it, heh) then go down another 2 floor's (5th floor) and run to the middle of the area where there is a bridge. Within the room is the Main Cannon which you seek to destroy (NOTE: Unequip Yang, so you can sell his equip.. this is the last time he will be in your party) so go on in and do the deed. You need only kill 3 Dark Imps, sounds like childsplay right? well it is, except for one thing. The cannon gets locked down by those 3 bastards and they vanish.

Ehhh, fuck? Yang jumps out from the team and decides to attempt a fix.. he throws the party out and successfully defuses the cannons, but they blow up in his face =\ heh, so there goes a party member. Ahh well, shit happens, get on with life. So.. what happens now? just walk back down the Tower of Babil, tis as simple as it sounds my good man upon reaching the ground floor you get prompted by Golbez who makes the bridge under you collapse. Shit! that's not good at all >< but hey no other characters die in this game so what happens? Cid appears with the Enterprise and swings under your party, catching you from certain doom via molten lava. w00t, the Enterprise can now go over Lava.. but there's no time to experiment, the damn Red Wings start getting up your ass which isn't a good thing, Cid tries to out manuver (I know its a typo but I dunno the spelling of the damn word lol) them but to no avail.

Alternative plan! Fly the place out the hole of that mountain that we made before coming Underground and Cid seals it with a bomb.. simple enough, Cid jumps overboard and detonates the bomb giving you clear passage back to the Overworld, huzzah! fresh air and blue skies, about fuckin time we got back into the mess. From here you head straight North back to the hometown, Baron.

Modifying the Airship

First point of business is heading up to Cecil's tower and resting up, its free, remember? when you wake up head over to the East wing of the castle, in the Courtyard you'll find a group of Cid's lackeys and watch them work away on the Enterprise, they attach a hook to the base of the Airship so you can pickup that good'ol Hovercraft you left at Mt.Hobs. So dont delay. (Or, you could head into Baron Town and sell off a whole heap of items cluttering your Inventory and THEN fly to Mt.Hobs, heh.) To grab the Hovercraft you need to fly North for a while, past Kaipo and a bit East of Damcyan.. zing! Hovercraft baby.

Eblan / Eblan Caves

To get to Eblan you need to head due South/West for a short while from Agart (where you just appeared from the Underworld).. you have 2 options here, the first one being ~ heading into Eblan Castle. At this current time I would recommend AGAINST going into the Castle, as alot of the monsters in here are really able to kick your ass, different story if your around level 35-40 then you could kick their ass with no sweat. I will touch on the Castle at a later time so dont worry about it for now (aswell as a monster list for the region above ground). Otherwise you should opt for option B, going into the Eblan Caves.

Monsters ~ GiantBat, Cave Bat, Ironback, Skull, BlackLiz, Egg, Lamia, Red Bone, Staleman, Armadilo, HugeCell (list includes monsters from outside the cave)

GiantBat ~ Fire, Projectiles
Cave Bat ~ Holy, Projectiles
Ironback ~ None
Skull ~ Fire, Holy (casts Bolt2 when is the only Skull on screen)
BlackLiz ~ Ice
Egg ~ None
Lamia ~ None
Staleman ~ Ice (random effect of Sleep with his regular attacks)
Red Bone ~ Fire, Holy
Armadilo ~ None
HugeCell ~ None

Sigh, back into murky caves with more dumbass monsters to slaughter. Remember all that Fire weapons we purchased back Downunder? here is where the Weapons really shine >=) equip that Flame Sword and FireSpr and you'll breeze through these battles. From the entrance just head East towards that chest, you can walk through the wall and get yourself a [Shurinken], then a [Remedy] from the other. Head back to the first chest and go South into the water, go East and you can walk through that wall too. Keep following the stream and go up that stairway then keep on walking South, chest to be had. [Vampire], go back up and take that bridge West, then the bridge South and lastly head West until you see the exit to the next level down.

Kind of.. the village of Eblan now, heh. Use the Inn then head over to the Weapons / Armour shop.

Armour;

Ice Shield ~ 10000g
Ice Armour ~ 30000g (damn man.)
Black Robe ~ 10000g

Weapons;

Power Staff ~ 2000g
IceBrand ~ 26000g
IceSpear ~ 21000g
Kunai Katana ~ 4000g
Boomrang ~ 3000g
Archer Bow ~ 3000g
Venom Arrow ~ 70g (per arrow, 6930g for 99)

Not bad, not bad at all. You already have a handful of the items on display so that alone has saved you a small mint. There's only 2 things I can point out that you would have to buy.. maybe 3. Black Robe for Rydia, Power Staff for Rosa (if you decide to ditch the Bow), and maybe a handful of those Venom Arrows (40-50 at the most) to screw up a few monsters along the way, heh. All done? cool, head to the West and go through that door down the South end the room is full of people "hiding" from the monsters. Go straight down the middle to those pots and you'll snab a [Potion], then the pot next to the exit yields another [Potion].. weak healing items but its the principle of getting Treasure that makes you get them, heh. All your business is dealt with now you can finally head North through to the "Pass to Babil".

Another section of caves, yum. Directly outside the entrance is a [Ether1], continue North and you'll find another chest next to the injured dude. [Tent], now you can head South and keep going all the way until you can go no further, go East and go grab that chest [HiPotion]. Head back up to that exit and venture into a new area. Go North until you see the option to go further North or East, go North and a bit East to get a [Kamikaze] (to get to that other chest requires you head around via the next floor).. head South then East  there is a secret wall so walk through it, chest be [Shurinken]. Back up and go South near the injured dude, back down a level. Whoa fuck, chests all over the place.. [Cabin, HiPotion x2] right infront of you. Across from the entrance there is a secret path to get to those 2 chests. [Elixir x2], continue past the 3 chests and East past the injured dude, follow around South and another chest wants you to touch it. [Silk Web], go East and there's another set of chests! damn! [Life x2, HrGlass2], Booyah, now just keep going North and you'll be in a new area.

A door? hmm.. lets see, there's a Save Point, use it if you need to, but you can go around the North/East and through a secret passage.. chest time, but wait.. we have monsters to fight, sigh, 2 Staleman, summon Shiva and the fight will be over all too soon. You'll receive a [Blood Sword] for your trouble and its quite a handy little sword at that, dont just use it against Undead or you'll be giving THEM HP instead of you gaining some HP from it. Exit the room and take a quick journey West and it gets you a chest [Soft], all that is left is to go North. You endure a scene where Edge fights Rubicant solo, well.. Edge gets slaughtered to be blunt. Scorch hits him for massive damage and he drops dead. He makes some moves on Rosa and Rydia but they aren't impressed (heh XD) so he joins the group. Go West there is a secret wall [Ether2], now go back to that Save Point because you really need to watch yourself in the next area.

Before we move on lets check out Edge eh? starts at Level 25 and has some low HP/MP. So you'd best keep him healed as he IS a valuable asset to the group once he levels up a few, he has roughly the same HP increases as Rosa but his MP growth is much inferior to that of Rosa. He has the ability to use "Ninjitsu" Magic, which is mostly Black Magic of the sort and he has a small selection even when he is leveled. At level 38 he learns a valuable spell that really helps him out due to his mediocre defense, Image, same as Blink but it only applies to him. Enough riff raff about our new party member, lets head North into the next area of the game.

Tower of Babil (part 2)

Enough fucking Tower's, damn!

Monsters ~ Mad Ogre, Sorcerer, BladeMan, Balloon, BlackCat, Egg, Lamia, Q.Lamia, Green.D, Grudger

Mad Ogre ~ None
Sorcerer ~ None (when its last on the battlefield, it'll Call a random monster)
BladeMan ~ Holy (counters regular attacks with Bio, casts Wall when hit with magic)
Balloon ~ Projectiles (uses Detonate, which hits 1 character for HP the Balloon had left)BlackCat ~ None (counters regular attacks with Bluster, KO on one random character)
Egg ~ None
Lamia ~ None (counters regular attacks with Charm, same effect as the Charm spell)
Q.Lamia ~ None (counters magic with Charm)
Green.D ~ None (uses Thunder attack, damage to all characters)
Grudger ~ Holy

A quick tip before we start. Use Stop on regular occasions, tis one of Rydia's Black Magic spells. 15MP well invested me says.

Out of all the places to come to, its the damn Tower. Sigh. As mentioned beforehand you should keep an eye on Edge as he will be KO'd quite fast if not looked after, so lets just go on with it shall we. Keep heading North and you'll notice that you cant get in.. Edge does some secret Ninja thing and jumps through the wall, cool eh? go pillage that chest to your West [Unihorn], go South a bit and you'll see another chest.. but you gotta walk quite a distance to get to that one, so head on West and follow the trail around North/West then South, etc etc. After a short while you'll be greeted by a door, but keep walking past it to your North/East and go snab that chest [HrGlass2], NOW proceed back to that door and goto the next floor. 2nd Floor is quite a simple one, basically a circle from East to North then West to South so by all means dont delay. In the middle of the room is a bridge with a lone chest which you should be careful of, go down and open the chest to reveal a monster battle.

4 Mad Ogres. Its harder then it sounds, these guys hit fucking hard and will possibly KO a character or two. So hmm... just summon Mist Dragon a few times and have everyone else attack as per normal (give Cecil a Bacchus and watch the Ogre's feel a new world of pain), with Rosa healing ofcourse and putting Blink on either herself or Edge. Next floor beckons and you'll see a tiny bridge ahead, go over and to the East you then have a door to go through.. go through IF you want to miss a treasure chest, which is located further East [Succubus], back to the next level shall we? Once on the next level you can take yourself North/East for a while then North, back down around South and you'll find yourself a chest in the center (well, almost direct center lol) of the room. [Ashura], give it to Edge and move on West to the exit back down a floor.

Back down a floor, and all you need to do is run to the East. And you'll find yourself with 2 door's to go through, take the nearest door to find yourself in a Save Point and uh.. I'd advise you use it. If you were like me and had about 5-6 KO's on the way up here I'd be fearing the thought of doing it all again o.O. Go through that nearby door to find yourself a level up, quick walk West gets you through another door. Upon entering the floor you proceed directly South (dont take the path to the East, its a dead-end) then keep on heading West.. keep going all the way West until you see 3 bridges heading North, take the center bridge to land yourself a chest. [82000g] (fucking NICE!), now head back East and head towards that Door to the North.. wait, you're stopped by a certain 2 people.. Edge's Mother and Father. Both of which attack you for no particular reason seeing as though they were mutated by that crazy Dr.Lugae you killed earlier on in your adventure.

No need to put in level's and shit, its a story driven battle so you cant kill either of them. They attack you with Fire1 and Fire2 which do next to no damage until they "regain consciousness" and begin a drawn out speech apologizing to Edge and telling them they are no longer human, Eblan lay in good hands according to the Queen then they promptly vanish. Rubicant shows up and tells you that Lugae did this to Edge's parents and is sorry for his loss, Edge gets pissed off and in doing so he learns Blitz and Flood which are handy little Ninjitsu spells (kind of like... a Bolt2.5 and Ice2.5, heh) but not all that powerful. No need to drag it on though, after Edge's little outburst you are given the chance to equip/prepare your party for the next battle.

Something is burning.

32 34

Boss ~ Rubicant

Pretty big guy eh? In one respect the battle in simple, in the other its hard given you dont keep yourself on guard. Lets check him out eh.

~ Counter attacks regular attacks with Fire2 on all characters, mediocre damage.
~ Scorch on one character, usually a KO due to the amount of damage it deals out.
~When he opens his cloak (this means he is going to cast Scorch or some other spell) he is vulnerable to Ice (or, *more* vulnerable to Ice), so let rip either Ice2 or Shiva for some good damage.
~ Whilst his cloak is shut, he absorbs Ice. So keep it in mind.
~ Attack x2, does some decent damage.

Also remember to re-equip any Ice Weapons you had on previously, IceBrand / IceSpear / Ice Arrows, etc, you'll be dealing out better damage in the long run. Fire Weapons work too but dont do hardly any damage in comparison. As you can tell by the specifics above you really only need to focus on straight out onslaught anyway, he opens/closes his cloak quite quickly so you have to be precise with your spells if you are casting any. However, your best bet in this fight is to give Cecil a good'ol Bacchus and watch him slice into the red fucker for atleast 2000 dmg when his cloak is open, heh. Kain's Jump works quite well too, but it only deals out the super damage when his cloak is open and its hard to time right.

The battle being won you can now move on, go straight through that door to get yourself into the Crystal room. Oooo... shiny, proceed North only to find yourself fall down a damn trapdoor. -.- Alright, lets get on with it I suppose. Upon landing jog north and a chest is yours [HiPotion], then just continue your passage south and barge through the door to the next level. Just keep going North once your on the next level and you'll be on the next floor through that door, head South/East once you get out and you'll see a chest on the other side of the wall, so just keep on walking South and go East then North to get your chest [HiPotion], go back West and you'll knock yourself into another door. Heeey baby, what do we have here? An enemy Airship, sweet! lets go steal it, I mean its only fair since they have tried to kill you and all. Edge names it the Falcon and asks Rydia for her opinion, "Oh, whatever!" she replies.. lol, she got the hots for him and you know it.

Now, we finally have an Airship again. About fuckin' time I hear, the only thing you can really do is head back to the Dwarven Castle and continue on, but you should land outside that Dwarven Base and use that healing pot to get your HP/MP up for free.

At the Dwarven Castle

Rally ho! welcome back, go chat to the King and he'll hand you Luca's Necklace, which is the key to the Sealed Cave (your next destination) so clear an inventory slot for it if you need to. Head back down to the Infirmary (North/East exit of the Inn/Itemshop area) and you'll see Cid in there snoozing, Edge has a bit of an ego trip infront of Cid and they almost get into a fight, but aside from that he is made aware that the new enemy ship cant fly over Magma so he helps them out.... again... XD now the new Falcon can fly over anything, huzzah! Now that you have the ability to fly over Magma, your first port of call is to the South/West of the Dwarven Castle..

Tomra

Another mess of Dwarves, yippie! The Itemshop (first building, West of town) is identical to the Dwarven Castle, so scroll back up to see what goodies you need/want to grab. But the main purpose of this town is to hop into those Weapons/Armour shops and spend like fucking mad. So without further adieu;

Weapons;

Ashura Katana ~ 7000g
Chain Whip ~ 6000g
Ogre Axe ~ 45000g (only? damn >.>)
Archer Bow ~ 3000g
Mute Arrows ~ 100g (9900g for 99)

Armour;

Diamond Shield ~ 15000g
Diamond Helmet ~ 10000g
Diamond Armour ~ 40000g
Diamond Gauntlet ~ 5000g
Tiara ~ 20000g
GoldRing ~ 4000g

O.o... well, this is certainly going to rip a new hole in your budget. My usual way to do business is.. to Unequip the pieces of Armour you will be replacing, sell them, then buy any other pieces you need.. rinse and repeat, you'll get more Gil while your doing it. My general list of recommendations if you will;

Cecil, every single piece of Diamond equipment you see there. (70000g total)

Kain, same as Cecil to be blunt, heh.

Edge, get him a Ashura Katana (that makes 2 for you) plus that GoldRing, he cannot equip anything else in these shops.

Rydia, Chain Whip, Tiara and GoldRing. Nuff said.

Rosa, hard call. If you got the Tiara back at Mist Village you just saved yourself 20000 gil, otherwise all you need to buy is that GoldRing, but if you want to continue the Bow & Arrow legacy, those Mute Arrows are a good investment.

Armour ~ 172000g
Weapons ~ 13000g

Damn, that's how much I spent in my game. Through selling old equipment I would've regained about 100 - 120k gil so it kind of evened out. I came in with around 280000 gil and I came out with 124600 gil. T.T its a wise investment as you'll be sticking with this setup for some time yet. Head back outside the shop and go to the North/West part of town and enter that building, alot of chests (and pots) within so help yourself [ThorRage, Notus, Bomb, Bestiary, Ether2, 2000g] now your business with this town is officially over. There are 3 options as to what you can do now..

1. Head into the Sealed Cave (naturally, heh)
2. Go through the Slyphan Cave and get some sweet items.
3. Head down the Land of Summons and also acquire some new goodies.

Option #2 isn't really part of the question right now, if your levels are like mine (27-34) you'll be slaughtered quite easily.. so best to avoid it, you COULD take Option 3 and check out the Land of Summons but there's no point if you dont have the spell Wall, which in my game I dont just yet. If you do have reflect? then go right on down, I'll cover those areas in a latter part of this Walkthrough. Dont waste anymore time and get on with the next area of the game...

Monsters ~ VampLady, Were Bat, TrapDoor, Screamer, HugeNaga, Mantcore, Yellow D

VampLady ~ Fire, Holy (casts Bolt2 to counter magic)
Were Bat ~ Fire, Projectiles (uses Vampire ability every turn, gradual HP decrease)
TrapDoor ~ None (Target and Dmension on one character, KO, USE SLOW)*
Screamer ~ None
HugeNaga ~ None (counters magic with Mute)
Mantcore ~ None (strong vs. all elements, uses Blaze attack, average damage, USE STOP)
Yellow D ~ None (uses Thunder to counter regular attacks, hits 3-4 random characters, low dmg)
*You could also use Wall on the targeted character, and reflect the attack back at the TrapDoor and KO it. Have to be quick about it though.

Sealed for a reason, tis full of monsters that could probably kick your ass given that you hand it to them on a silver platter. Wont happen to you now will it? hmmm? heh, I have to note out one thing before you run down there like a snail on crack, every single Door that you can see is a "Trap Door" which takes you into a battle.. some rooms have items inside, others dont, but I'll tell you which do and which dont aight. Dont forget to make use of your previously owned Flame Sword and FireSpr, they'll save your ass down here. So now we have used the Necklace on the entrance door and have moved inside, take a walk South/East and go down the rope (yes, in most cases you'll cross a rope not a bridge) and around the West of that rocky platform. Down South of the Door you can see is a chest [Bestiary] within. Go to that door and see what I was talking about, heh, ALL the doors in this place just happen to be like this one so I'd recommend that you ONLY go through the ones you need to.

Unless you want some more exp, that is, the doors are pretty tough. You know one cheat though? if you DO have Wall you can simple cast it on the character that gets targeted.. and BANG, shoots the attack back at the door, killing it and giving you more exp then when it transforms (well transform into Mantcore when its HP goes down to a certain point). ^.^ Rosa must be level 36 to learn Wall. Through that first door you'll find 2 chests.. one East, one West. [Kotetsu Katana, Ether1] Proceed back outside and to the West then North to our next area. Once in head straight North to get a chest [HiPotion] and basically straight East is another chest [Ether1], there are 2 Door's in here, fight them if you wish but there is nothing in both of the rooms. Head South into our next level and here you have 2 options first off, go South down the rope then East to get a [StarVeil], then continue back up and East across the bridge (gasp! first bridge we have crossed, lmao) and land another chest [Life].

Go North and you'll find yourself by a row of Door's. The 1st and 4th door are empty, so dont bother with them if you dont want to.. so lets head into that 2nd door and find yourself a [Light Sword] which Cecil needs to equip ASAP as the attack power is quite high, Str+3 Wil+3. Onto the 3rd door and you'll land yourself 3 chests [Fuma, Elixir, StarVeil], back out and avoid the next door.. head to our 5th door and there's a Save Point.. might I suggest you use it? ^^; head back out and to the last door (well, in this row that is) and there are 2 more chests [Kotetsu Katana, Ninja Hood]. From here just head around the West side of the canyon and you'll get yourself another Door and the next level, you'll see a [Ether1] along the way and down another level to the West.. here we have a simple little room, 2 chests to the East [Life, HiPotion] and a door there's nothing in the room so I wouldn't bother if I were you.

Center/South of the room is the exit to the next level so walk through it, now head East and nowhere else.. maybe a bit North so you can get around the back of that rock formation, chest beholds [MuteBell] head back around and down that rope (that door has nothing in it, so avoid it) and go East again, inside this door is 2 chests [Ether2, X-Potion].. go back outside the room and head West, to our next level around the North end of the rock formation. Empty room, but a Save Point.. unless your a dumbass I'd be putting that Save Point to use, once you've done that keep heading South to our next floor. Go around either the West or East and follow the path South, you'll come across the rock formation in the center of the room and our next level. Once out go around North and over the bridge, this will be the last door you go through to get the Dark Crystal.

Walk up to the Dark Crystal and grab it, easy eh? head back out only to discover that the Crystal has a automated booby trap -.- damnitall.. as if the TrapDoor's weren't enough shit to deal with.

RUN AWAY!! (Monty Python skit)

Boss ~ EvilWall

Hmm.... seems we have a problem here Houston.. this thing attacks hard and fast, so you need to go all out here folks.

Cecil, give him Bersk or use a Bacchus, hard and fast attacks never hurt none.
Rosa
, nothing but Cure2-3's and Life1's. Some Blink's will help here too, try throw a Slow in.
Edge
, throw all those Shurinken's and Fuma's.. or an old Weapon.
Kain
, Jump. ^^;
Rydia
, Continual Bio casting.. why? its fast to cast and it does damage around 2000 dmg anyway.

What's up with this EvilWall eh..

~ Regular attack every time it moves up a square.
~ Counters magic with Petrify, gradual. (3 of them turns you to Stone)
~ Once it has come to a halt, it'll use Crush which is a KO attack.
~ Moves VERY FAST, so you gotta keep the pace way up there.

Battle over, EXP income, yummeh. In my game I was a bit slow and Rosa was KO, but eh all good... one thing you should take note of though is from here you can't use Exit to get out of the Cave. You can't use Warp either which is a real kick in the balls, but oh well the exp will benefit you anyway. Go and take on a few of those TrapDoor's if you want to now otherwise just get out of the damn Cave, you made it down so you can make it up. Upon reaching the entrance room you get a scene where Golbez takes control of Kain again and makes him steal the Dark Crystal... all that battling for nothing? Fuck you Kain, fuck you good. >< well, there's nothing else you can do down here so you'd best get out of the place.

Go to the nearest town and sell all of Kain's old equipment (and the stuff you just gave him, I get into the habit of un-equipping characters who are about to leave so I can make money off their gear.) since when he rejoins later in the game he has his own equipment.

Head back to the Dwarven Castle and converse with King Giott about the Dark Crystals.. he mentions the Mysidian Legend a few times then the party says that the path upstairs is blocked. Heh, not very good eh? At the same time Cid comes barging in and says he'll attach a drill to the Falcon, No worries! A funny scene goes along with all of the crew working on the ship, Edge decides to stop working and go flirt with Rosa & Rydia.. Hehehe, Cid doesn't like this and drags him back onto the ship but Edge doesn't like that either.. so he starts a fight with Cid, guess what? Cid kicks his ass XD and they all get back to work happily. Cid collapses because he is an old bastard but that's nothing to be surprised about.

Errands Part 2

Woo, here comes the pain >=) this is optional BUT its highly recommended that you do these due to the rewards you reap from it. Hop into the Falcon and fly to the area North/West of the Sealed Cave, its a lone island and the entrance to..

Cave of Summons

Its where the cool people are!

Monsters ~ Warrior, Fiend, Red Eye, Conjurer, HugeNaga, Arachne.

Warrior ~ None (Stop is recommended)
Fiend ~ None (use Mute on them, counters all attacks with Charm)
Red Eye ~ Projectiles (uses Gaze, random effect of Hold or Charm)
Conjurer ~ None (has Call, random monster summoned into battle)
HugeNaga ~ None
Arachne ~ Ice, Projectiles (uses GaiaRage often, counters magic with a regular attack)

Gonna have some fun down here. At my current levels I am having a very difficult time getting myself through the random encounters.. so watch yourselves when you're down here, if you have higher levels then my group then I suppose you should be fine, I believe that this area is a Lv40+ in some respects but you may see it otherwise. Aight, on with a walkthrough.. NOTE: All those Orange patches on the floor damage you, so cast Float every level to progress through as it disappears once you go through a door.

Upon entering the Cave of Summons, go directly East (after the whole Float casting thing) and then North and you will land yourself a chest [Life], head West from this chest and there is a secret passage which leads to another chest [Ether1]. Back through the secret passage and go all the way South and get another chest [HiPotion], go West and North once you hit the end of the road and there's our exit to the next level. (remember to cast Float on all characters) Head due East and up the path continue to the East and South a touch to pilfer a chest [HiPotion], from there head North and then North/West and there's a chest in the center of that area [Cabin]. The exit to the next level is to the far East and make your way over. From the entrance go West - South - East - South and we have a chest [Life], go all the way East and there's another chest [Bestiary].

(BTW, it might be wise to run into the Town of Summons and Save your progress because some of these chests contain monsters and they are hard & fast o.o.. for the sake of the walkthrough I'll save the Town for after the Cave)

Go East a touch more to find yourself into another secret passage (weee!) go North up this passage and West as soon as you stop, continue North then West and reveal a chest [Defense Sword] but there is an insanely tough fight to get your item.. 5 Warriors (its tough IF you dont cast Slow on them). -.- Main thing you need do is cast Slow on the Warriors, then Titan over and over. Should be slaughtered in no time... after some of your guys go down too that is ^^; equip the newfound Defense Sword on Cecil and be on your merry way back down that secret passage. Go all the way South until you can go no further then make your way West and you can go no further, North a few click then go East into the small room with 3 chests [HiPotion, Venom Axe, Kikuichi Katana]. Equip the Katana on Edge, but that Venom Axe is a 2-Handed weapon thus Cecil has to sacrifice some Defense/Evade in order to equip this thing. Besides, its Attack strength is 95 as opposed to the Defense Sword and its 105. Heh.

Proceed back into the passage and go North, East once you come to a stop and navigate your way around to the center area of this current level. That's the entrance to the...

Town of Summons

Well its technically the 4th level of the Cave of Summons, but this is the make it standout from the rest of my crappy writing. As soon as you enter you should go around in a Clockwise fashion to get all these items, they stand out so I need not give you directions ~ chests in order; [Ether1, Bestiary, Rat Tail*, 5000g, 6000g].. *to get that Rat Tail you need to get on that teleporter, goto the next level, then come back down the teleporter so you can head South to get the chest. There is one treasure I haven't listed though, its a secret room that is simple enough to get to, so make your way around to that chest at the South end of the floor. Head DIRECTLY NORTH of it, then East when you hit the wall then walk into that little piece of extended walkway. Once down here you go North to receive your well deserved treasure [Elixir, Ether2, Yoichi Arrows, Yoichi Bow].. if you wish to exit to the Underworld you can go to the far South extension of walkway, but I'd call you a crazy cunt if you wanted to go through all those floors again. Equip the Bow on Rosa and watch her attack power skyrocket to be almost equal to that of Edge and Cecil o.O

Head back to that Teleporter to go back to the 4th level, then back to the center of the floor to teleport to the 5th level.. the "Town Centre" you could call this floor so I think I will. Once off the Teleporter you should make your way North, then to the West and the 2nd building as it contains a Save Point and 2 chests [Bestiary, Life], head back outside to the next building East, Inn/Itemshop, simple enough. The 2 Chocobo's are your item vendors;

Soft ~ 400g
MaidKiss ~ 60g
Mallet ~ 80g
DietFood ~ 100g
EchoNote ~ 50g
Eyedrops ~ 30g
Antidote ~ 40g
Cross ~ 100g

Life ~ 100g
Potion ~ 30g
HiPotion ~ 150g
Tent ~ 100g
Cabin ~ 500g
EagleEye ~ 100g
Gyshal ~ 50g
Remedy ~ 5000g

All done? make your way to the South end of town and you'll see 2 Building, West - Weapons / East - Armour.

Weapons first;

Whip ~ 3000g
Chain ~ 6000g
Blitz Whip ~ 10000g
Kotetsu Katana ~ 11000g
FairyRod ~ 5000g
Lunar Staff ~ 7000g
Angel Arrows ~ 110g (each, 10980 for 99)

Armour;

Aegis Shield ~ 20000g
Sorcerer Robe ~ 30000g

Is it just me? or are the prices getting more and more ridiculous >< but anyway, that's quite an array of items to purchase so let me be a bit of a guide here for you.

Cecil, doesn't require any of these items. His Diamond Shield has the same Defense as that Aegis Shield -> But the Aegis Shield has 1 point more Magic Defense and +3 Wisdom. Cecil isn't a Black Mage so its not helping any.

Edge, hell.. on your way down here you got a Kikuichi Katana which is stronger then the Kotetsu Katana (by 8 points I might add, heh). So Edge doesn't need anything from either of the Shops.

Rosa, tough call. A small stack of those Angel Arrows might come in handy (if you are still doing the Bow/Arrow combo like I am) so get around.. 40-50. Investing in the Lunar Staff might be wise to do also so you can sell off that Power Staff and get some money back. The Sorcerer Gown is a wise purchase, +5 Wisdom/Will is always helpful for any kind of Mage in the game.

Rydia, straight off the bat I'll say -> get the damn Sorcerer Gown, as mentioned above it helps out Wisdom/Will but it'll help out Rydia more-so. Why? she has her Wisdom/Will almost on par with each other, so her Summons will be that little bit more powerful then before. But as far as weaponry goes.. fuck the Whips, if you want Rydia to be a powerhouse you'll get that FairyRod -> +10 Wisdom. Need I say more?

Plus, that FairyRod has the random affect of Charm (when it actually hits, heh) aswell as being able to cast Charm when its used as an Item.

Right! once you have all of that sorted (go and Save your progress, you got some work to do) you can head out of the 2 shops and go into building directly above the Weapons shop, this is the Library, you can read some of the book's if you want to but it wont do anything for you, heh. Head down those stairs, and then down the next pair of stairs. You will find yourself in a room with non-other then Asura and Leviathan. Rydia has a short chat to both of them then you must defeat Asura to be able to talk to Leviathan. So here we go!

Yes Ma'am.

Boss ~ Asura

Heh, this battle is so damn easy it makes me snicker at the thought of telling you how to beat her. This is why I told you long ago not to bother coming down before you had the Wall spell because THIS is where you will be using it. At the start of the battle what I usually do is buff everybody up and let Asura do all her continuous spell casting.

Cecil, normal attacks. Do ye'ol faithful Bacchus (or Rosa cast Bersk if you have no Bacchus)
Edge
, Throw some stuff if you really want to. But you only need to regularly attack here.
Rosa
, at the beginning of the battle (this is what I do) you should cast Blink on all members, then Wall on Asura to get the party started. -> Why Blink on all members? 2 enemy attacks will miss guaranteed so its saves Curing MP for Rosa, so she can attack more and help dish out damage. Recast Blink as soon as it goes down, or go for the old fashion Curing, heh.
Rydia
, you got Summons? use them. They cant be reflected when they are cast by Rydia. Titan will not work (because Asura is floating) so use any of the others if you wish to. -> Another sneaky trick is to cast Wall on Rydia and bounce her spells back at Asura, like Bio.

What about Asura's tricks?

~ Casts Life1, Cure3, Armor on herself. Every single move she has, which benefits her as you can imagine.
~ Counters regular attacks with a regular attack.
~ Counter magic attacks with a regular attack.

(In my game, I only had to cast Cure2 a total of 2 times [Asura's refected Cure3s saved me the hassle, heh heh]. I continually cast Blink on all members [8 MP, that's hardly anything] and had only 2 KO's due to me casting slow, BOOYAH!!)

Not so hard is it? pound her down while Wall is up and be sure to keep all your members in top shape. She has 31000 HP or so ^^; so have a great time slashing her down to 0. All done? 5000 exp (if all party members are still alive, that is), yum.. she leaves a final remark "You have proven your worth, summon me at will" then Rydia learns Asura, w00t. The summon is exactly the same as what is in the battle you had, it randomly casts either Life1, Cure3 or Armor on the entire party. Its handy in a sense but with the random thing its really a gamble, pays off if you get what you want though ^.^ from here I would recommend you goto the Inn, then go Save your progress (hell, who would want to do all THAT again) and head back down to face none other then.. Leviathan.

Yes Sir.

Boss ~ Leviathan

Big fella isn't he? due to his insanely high amount of HP [50000 HP] it's safe to say that.. you will be here for a while yet ^^; he is water based so all I can say is, Bolt will be your best friend, and Ramuh. I believe this will be a straight forward battle so I'll do a basic listing.

~ Leviathan uses Big Wave frequently, hits all members for 1/4 of their Max HP. Cure3 or Cure4 on all should be cast ASAP after this attack.
~ Leviathan casts Ice2 on one character, can be more or less damage in comparison to his main attack. He casts this multiple times so keep an eye on everyone's HP.
~ Use Bacchus (or have Rosa cast Bersk) on both Cecil and Edge, the battle will be shortened by quite a degree.. 2 reasons. -> You dont have to give them commands every turn, and they attack much faster, automatically, and for higher damage then they normally do. ^.^
~ Summon nothing but Ramuh, if you summon anything else I should slap you like a red haired stepchild.

7000 EXP this time, even better, you can now summon Leviathan whenever you need to. Its like any other spell in Rydia's arsenal except the fact that it hits ALL monsters on screen for some massive damage, I'd use this as a last resort if your party is getting its ass kicked. With that all gone and done I would recommend that you use an Exit item or have Cecil cast Exit to save you the hassle of having to go over all the Cave shit again, or alternatively you could go back to that secret room where the Yoichi Bow was and use the exit there, takes you back to the surface. Just make sure you got that Rat Tail as it will come in handy in the next portion of the guide. Why do you need that Rat Tail? well, I'll explain in the next paragraph.

From the Cave of Summons you need (or for better words, SHOULD) head back to the surface and hop into the Enterprise and go fetch the Hovercraft (remember, you left it outside the Elban cave entrance). From the Island of Elbana you head directly East and a small nudge North and you'll find yourself at Mysidia, from there head North/East and you'll find yourself at the South end of a path of Islands. Follow these Islands North until you see a turn-off to the West, land outside good'ol Mythril Town and get into the Hovercraft from which you head South/East along the shallows and a place to land just outside that cave. So get out of your damn Hovercraft and go in.

Behold the Adamant Grotto! this is why you got the Rat Tail, talk to the tiny blue dude and he screams in excitement (like a ejaculated or something o.O) and trades you the Adamant Ore for your Rat Tail. Seem's fair enough as a Rat Tail wouldn't really help deal 9999 damage to Zeromus now would it? XD

Errands (part 3)

From getting the Adamant Ore you now proceed back down to the Underworld, not to the Dwarven Castle.. nor Tomra or the Cave of Summons, you need to go pay Kokkol's Smithy a visit (far South/East corner of the Underworld). When you talk to him he seem's a bit in the blues so why not cheer him up? give him the Adamant Ore and he takes your Legend Sword and makes it more powerful. You cannot get the Sword straight away however, you must make your way through the next part of the game. In the first area of Kokkol's Smithy you can find [Remedy, HiPotion] hidden in the Pots around the West side of the place. Once done in here you can do 2 more things before getting on with the actual story, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you do these things as they will benefit you in the long term.

1. Sylvan Cave
2. Eblan Castle

First one will get you a new summon and a kickass Sword, 2nd option will give you an assload of treasure along as a few monster chests (which give you some decent equip I might add). Im going to lay down a guide for the Slyvan Caves first though, so go blow me if you wanted to the Eblan first =P

Monsters ~ ToadLady, TinyToad, Ghost, DarkTree, Malboro, Centpede

ToadLady ~ None ("Ribbit..." makes all Toads attack, turns self into Toad when alone)
TinyToad ~ Ice (casts Toad when given the command)
Ghost ~ None (casts Fire2 and Sleep, Mute is recommended, absorbs all Elementals)
DarkTree ~ Fire (casts Bersk when attacked, regular & magic, random monster on battlefield)
Malboro ~ None (Breath > Charm, Toad, Piggy, Darkness, Silence, Mini. Digest > HP Degen)
Centpede ~ None

A word of warning first though, you'll most likely have to journey down here twice.. for reasons I'll reveal in the latter of the guide. And remember to Save your progress before you set foot in this place, its rough as guts as you'll soon be finding out for yourself, heh heh. Ok, once you enter the place you'll need to cast Float on all the party members (remember the Cave of Summons? heh) then head to the East, grab those 2 chests [Bestiary, Angel Arrows] and dont worry about the 3rd yet. You get to that via a secret path but you cant access it from your current locale, from there all you can do is head South/West down that stairway (A) to reveal the next floor! woo. From here you have 2 paths to go through, but I'll follow these in order so I dont confuse myself.

From the entrance just go South and West up that set of stairs (B), back to the 1st floor! woo. You can see the Save Point to the East, use it if you want to but otherwise its all good.. from here (If you want that chest we couldn't get to earlier) you can head North/East and you'll find yourself in a secret passage, follow it all the way and [Elvan Bow] is yours (well, its useless in comparison to the Yoichi Bow so sell the Elvan Bow at the next town you visit. Unless you want to give it to Cecil, lmao). Backtrack past the entrance and to the West, go North when you can go no further to get 2 more chests [Cabin, 1000g]. (remember to Save often down here, some monsters can screw you royal in 1 attack) Head through the next set of stairs (C) to find yourself back on the 2nd floor, directly to your East is a chest.. too bad its empty eh? make your way up the path to the West and through the first set of stairs (D) on your East.

Guess what? back on the 1st floor. Head directly North and you'll land yourself a handful of chests. [Fire Arrows, Ice Arrows, Bolt Arrows, Ether1, HiPotion] On a personal level I would simply throw those Arrows away, they have a minute attack strength and dont really help even against those monsters who are WEAK vs. that element. Back down those stairs and around to the North/West and you'll get another set of stairs (E) -> before you go down goto the East through a secret passage, there be a chest [Mute Dagger] with some monsters, have fun. <- to the final floor of this shit-hole, damn. Go directly to that chest you can see, [Elixir]. Follow the path South and you'll run into a building. Barge through the door and you'll find none-then Yang lying in bed, talk to him to trigger a small event (Yang's Wife in Fabul, enables you to visit her) grab those 2 chests [CatClaw, HellClaw] then go up those stairs and exit the damn Cave.

Since Edge has a low attack strength without his Swords, these newfound Claws are no use to any party member =\ since Yang doesn't rejoin your party anyway. Sell these off, make some profit out of your venture down that shitty cave.

NOTE: We will be heading back down the cave to get other items. Take note of the letters I have set for certain stairs for you to refer too.

Once your back on the surface, jump on the Falcon and go back topside and make your way to Fabul. Talk to Yang's Wife and she'll hand over a key item which be Pan. You know what we're gonna do with this? beat Yang around the head LOL, by request of his own wife.. damn, what do they do in their spare time? o.O one doesn't want to know, heh. Lets head back down to our new favourite location and get the *other* set of goodies we skipped past. We will aim for the new Summon last, so go to the end of the next chapter or so for details on how to go about it.. but for now;

Dont forget your Float casting, for the love of whatever the fuck you believe in. Make your way back through (A) but, take a walk around the walls to your North and head into these new set of stairs (F). From entering the new level head directly West (yes, you can walk through the wall there) and go grab those chests [HiPotion, MaidKiss, FairyRod] (secret passage on the East to get to last chest). Go down to the stairs and through that passage we just found, but follow it East then North and head through those stairs (G). From here on I have to stress that you cast Blink in battles (have Edge cast Image to save Rosa some MP), aswell as use some Bacchus or cast Bersk since some of the monster chests in here are brutal ><, particularly the one where we are going to be getting the best treasures from. Head East and follow your nose down South and you find 4 chests [Remedy, 2000g, Kamikaze, 3000g] continue your warpath South and pillage the chests that are open [Bestiary, Exit, MaidKiss x2, Ether1].. and simply, walk down that pit in the middle of all the chests.

Simply walk North, then West once you hit the end and you'll see a Teleporter, use it. And here is where the PAIN begins, mwuhaha. 6 Chests to your East, all monster chests so I'll just make a list for these fuckers.

TIPS
~ Vs Ghosts, have Rosa cast Mute on her first go (on all Ghosts, not just one).
~ If you have Medusa Arrows, equip them on Rosa, the random Petrify will save your ass.
~ Cast Leviathan just about every turn Rydia has 'cuz it will DEFIANTLY save your ass.
~ Mute, Slow, Blink and Stop will be your best friends. Unless you kill them before you get a chance to cast.
~ HEAL UP before you enter another chest battle, your MP will surely be abused during these encounters.
~ When your in battle, dont be afraid to use an Elixir if Rosa or Rydia are short on juice.
~ Malboro = Death, HrGlass1 = Life. USE IT WHEN FIGHTING MALBOROs.

Chests, First row Left to Right.

Inferno ~ Ghost x6
Blizzard ~ Ghost x6
LitStorm ~ Ghost x6

Second Row, Left to Right

FullMoon ~ DarkTree x2 Malboro x2
Avenger Sword ~ Malboro x4 (HrGlass1 - 2 - 3 .... USE THEM!)
Medusa Arrows ~ Centpede x2

One think I would recommend doing is, getting all the chests bar that Avenger Sword. Why? because its fucking hard to knock down 4 Malboro's when they use Breath instantly. So go outside (Teleporter to the East) and Save your progress, its better then doing all the chests over again, just retrace your steps to get back down and then take a crack at the Malboro's, heh.

That's all for the Treasure side of the Cave.. but guess what? we gotta go down again to get the new Summon now dont we? Make your way down to where Yang was (A, B, C, E), and use the Pan item on him, it wakes him up! (no shit!, a shovel to the head would get you thinking) first thing he thinks about is going to training on some karate, heh. A scene goes on about Yang wanting to join up but the Sylphs tell him to rest and let them take his place, and voila. "Rydia learnt Sylph". Now, how about we get the fuck out of this cave and never return? works for me! Return to the overworld and make your way to..

Monsters ~ Staleman, Skull, Lamia, BlackCat

Staleman ~ Ice
Skull ~ Fire, Holy (random effect of Curse with regular attack)
Lamia ~ None
BlackCat ~ None (uses Bluster, KO attack on one character)
Mad Ogre ~ None

Edge's former castle (South/West of the Underworld entry/exit). Well, its still his castle but its minus the population due to the whole.. bombing thing, heh. Enter the castle and just keep on going North through the main chamber, most of the chests are open besides that one in the North/East corner [HiPotion], for the sake of getting all the treasures first, head back down through the door and go to the Western Tower. There is a chest either side on this first floor, you cannot get to them from your current position so head up the stairwell, in the Pot above the stairs is a [Bacchus] yet the rest contain nothing. Go South in-between those pots to reveal a secret passage, follow this around to grab those 2 chests [Mute Arrows, 10000g] then make your way back around to the path on the West side, there is a set of stairs to the South so keep going down. You go down a floor to reveal one of those chests we couldn't get to earlier [Kamikaze], walk South once more up the stairwell to find yourself back up a floor.

The chest to the East side is simple enough to get, walk down 1 square East of the Door, then head to the East, follow the secret path to find yourself infront of the chest [Sleep Sword], monster chest (Staleman, Skull x4). Woo Hoo -.-, battle is easy as piss at the party's current level so it should be a pushover. Once done, make your way out of the Western Tower, over to the Eastern Tower now! First floor you'll see chests on either side of the room, in the North/West area behind that column is a secret passage -> follow it around to get a [Coffin], the other chest cannot be accessed from the current floor so head up that staircase. Use the switch to the side of the door then head around the bottom of those stairs, in the third pot is a [Hermes], chests on the West -> [Exit, Ether1] then on the East -> [Cabin, BloodSpr] to get the chest with the pit infront of it head back and go through the passage North of the pit, easy to spot. Its a monster chest though so lets have some fun [Lamia, BlackCat x2].

Drop down that Pit to behold the chest we couldn't access last time [HrGlass2], head South down a stairwell to find yourself in the Basement. Follow the path and we see 3 chests [Ether1 x2] and [Ag Apple] which is a monster chest [Mag Ogre x3]... and that's it for Eblan Castle.. wasn't too hard now was it? ^.^ Now we can actually get back inline with the story.

Mysidian Legend

Go check out Mysidia again (go North, then East once you hit Baron) and you'll be greeted the instant you set foot in town, the Elder insists that you join him in the Tower of Worship.. the Mysidian Legend is flashed on screen then the room goes all flashy with colours and what's that!? a bigass ship is coming out of the water! cool, the Lunar Whale its called according to the Elder. Enough riff raff, get into the ship and explore a bit.. you now have a free place to rest, a Fat Chocobo AND you can go in-between the Earth and Moon, sweet eh? Use the crystal in the center of the cockpit to goto the Moon, glee!

Slime ~ None
Tofu ~ Fire
Pudding ~ Ice
Procyote ~ None
Juclyote ~ None (added effect of Venom with regular attacks)
MoonCell ~ None (Arise when attacked regular, refills HP)

Welcome indeed, looks pretty plain doesn't it? purple dirt with rocks everywhere, heh. First thing I believe you should check out is the Namingway Cave, fly to the East to spot a tower and then head south and you'll see a tiny little space. Land there to enter the cave, one of the Namingway's has a Itemshop on him but you gotta catch him amongst the 10 or so others running around.

HiPotion ~ 150g
Life ~ 100g
Ether1 ~ 10000g
Ether2 ~ 50000g
Elixir ~ 100000g
Cabin ~ 500g
Bestiary ~ 980g
Whistle* ~ 20000g

*Whistle can call a Fat Chocobo from any location you are in.

You can explore a bit now if you want to, im going to jump straight into a side-quest so beware, skip this if you want to get on with the story. To get to our next area you must fly around until you find a circle formation of purple cliffs with a cave in the center, there be...

Monsters ~ RedGiant, Warlock, Behemoth, Kary, D.Bone, King-Ryu

RedGiant ~ None (uses Emission ~ weak Fire attack vs all characters, Beam ~ 10% HP attack)
Warlock ~ None (casts Fire2, Psych, Wind, Drain, Bolt2 -> cast Mute on him ASAP)
Kary ~ None (strong vs. all magic)
Behemoth ~ None (counters all attacks, Magic & Regular w/ a Regular attack)
D.Bone ~ Fire (counters magic w/ Flame 1-3 characters, regular atk random effect of Venom)
King-Ryu ~ None (regular counter / Entangle [Hold], random Blitz* casting on one character)
* Blitz is randomly set for 10% of your Max HP, or 50% of your Max HP, keep the HP up.

Remember how I said "Here comes the Pain" earlier on? yeah, well this is a better definition of it. I must stress that you SAVE OFTEN, once you have killed a certain few monsters and/or knocked down a few roadblocks, cast Exit and heal up/save then go back down. You wont regret it let me tell you that much. One recommendation I can give out, is to give Cecil that Avenger Sword we got earlier on down in that damned Slyvan Cave.. he may sacrifice some Defense for it, but his attack is insane and he is in constant Bersk so you need not give him directions. Remove the Avenger Sword when facing a Behemoth though. Now for some directions as to get around, from entering head directly South all the way to reveal a chest [Genji Gauntlet], go back up East and to the North of that wall, there be a secret passage which leads to a chest [Genji Shield] so backtrack and head South to find yourself a staircase.

Next floor, follow the path around West then North and you'll land another chest [Genji Armour], then go far East for another [Genji Helm] then head back to that bridge in the middle (that's all the treasure for the cave, bah).. I would recommend you exit and Save here due to the nature of the next battle, otherwise jump right on in to face your first Behemoth!

First off I must point something out that will save you from screwing yourself with a rusty fork, unless you know how much HP he has left.. DONT USE MAGIC ** unless, as put in the last little bit, you know what his HP is at... they do have 23,000 HP to shave down so its not exactly a fast process.

Another thing to keep in mind, you may have Cecil equipped with that Avenger Sword right? well, you really should Unequip it for just these battles as the reason behind it is -> Behemoth counters all attacks, and if Rosa, Edge or Rydia aren't setup just yet (Blink, Protect, whatever else, etc) you can be slaughtered due to the constant counter attacks.

Did I mention not to use magic?

** In the Final Fantasy Anthology, European version, the Behemoth does not counter magic with the Maelstrom ability, it counters magic with a regular attack of its own. But on multiple ROM patches of the title you can expect to see the counter ability of Maelstrom sodomize you.

Continue North through the next set of stairs to find yourself on the lower levels of the place. It may look like a simple little walk South but I can assure you its far from it, there are 2 points down that path where you must do a mandatory Behemoth battle, you cannot escape it either so watch yourself. A certain period after slashing your way through Behemoth's, you come to a shrine of the sort with a purple guy in the middle. That is Bahamut, and he wants to kick your ass (well, not really, you can challenge him or run, lol) so prepare yourself according.

Big Bastard.. ^^;

Boss ~ Bahamut

Hmm.. big aint he? I can straight out say that this will be one of the simpler battles you will be doing, why? Bahamut doesn't use regular attacks, or any magic. So he is open for a complete slaughter, only catch is that he has a countdown -> when he reaches 1 he will cast MegaFire which will do in upwards of 9999 to all your party (yes, 9999, give or take)... SO! Get Rosa to cast Wall on herself, then on asmany other characters as she can*. If you have any StarVeil items use them now as they have the same effect as Wall but it lasts longer then the normal spell.

That's about it really =\ just keep up the attack and keep an eye on the status of your Wall and you should be cool. Bare in mind his 45,001 HP isn't exactly going to fall down in a few turns ^^;

* Rosa needs Wall first, since she can cast Wall on everyone else.. if you lose the ability to cast Wall, you lose the ability to survive that MegaFire which deals anywhere between 4000 - 9999 damage to everyone.

All good and done, we can get back onto the story now, heh. Fly over that Lunar Palace and land just West of it, along the mountain range that spans *above* it. You will see a ramp and a cave entrance, Save your progress if you haven't already then cruise on in..

Monsters ~ Procyote, Juclyote, Red Worm

Procyote ~ None
Juclyote ~ None (added effect of Venom with regular attacks)
Red Worm ~ Fire (counters Regular & Magic / Vampire, HP Degen)

Oooo, look at all the shiny crystal walls and ground. Stop staring like a stiff and get moving, head East to grab yourself a treasure chest [Au Apple] (monster chest, Juclyote x2 Procyote x2) then curve around to the North then East again, more chests [MoonVeil, Stardust]. Just cruise over to the exit to bring us back to the Moon's surface, from where you head East and then far South to find another cave entrance, walk on through our newfound path (its empty) to find yourself again on the Moon's surface. Take a walk North/West to find yourself at the entrance to the Crystal Palace, once your in head to your East to get a free MP refill -> to the West lay's a HP/Status restore. Neat eh? head up through the center pathway of the Palace to watch a scene endure with a new figure, FuSoYa. He tell's the tale of how the Lunarian's came about and how KluYa gave birth to Cecil and Golbez (doesn't that make FuSoYa, Cecil's uncle? heh) and why they chose the "Blue Planet".

FuSoYa is now in your party, huzzah. Another hitting post for your entertainment due to his mediocre stats and horrid HP count, he has a small MP pool but I should add that -> his MP doesn't increase until after level 60. Which is kind of... not handy? he isn't in your party for a huge length of time so its really not worth your effort to level him *that* much. But yo, that's all we gotta do so make your way back to the Lunar Whale, Save your progress, then hit the center crystal to head back to Earth. The Ship automatically lands and a scene endures about the Giant of Babil awakening already and there's nothing you can do in your current position. So Tanks come from the underworld, and the Red Wings/Airships come from the overworld to lay the smackdown on the Giant. Cecil calls for Cid and he comes down, he then drops them off in the Giants mouth (how the hell did they manage that anyway? heh) to put us on-route with the next part of the adventure.

Monsters ~ Machine, Beamer, MacGiant, Searcher, Last Arm

Machine ~ None
Beamer ~ None (Beam, hits for 10% Max HP)
MacGiant ~ None (Magnet, to counter magic, same as Stop)
Searcher ~ None (counters all with Beam, summons 1 monster to the battlefield)
Last Arm ~ None (Target then Magnet, use Wall to reflect it back at it)
Horseman ~ None
* Most Mechanical / Robot monsters in here, will get the effect of Charm (its a random shot, but you'll see the result) if you cast Bolt on them, a Bolt1 is enough to send them nuts. Edge and his Blitz gives out the best results.

The maps here are designed to look like body-parts if you check it out closer, pretty well done if you ask me. From the starting area just a quick dash North finds you a teleporter so use it to go down to the next level of the Giant, this new level is nothing to speak of so take the nearby teleporter down another level. Here we go! a proper level! damn, directly to your West is a chest [Shuriken] then follow your nose around the West/South and you'll land another chest [HiPotion] just before that bridge. Over the bridge to the East and you'll see another chest in view [Ether1], now go to the North/East corner of the map to get another [Yoichi Arrows], then back down to the West (just South of the teleporter is another) to a chest [Alert], then proceed to the teleporter. From here you can head directly North to land yourself a chest [Ag Apple] then back around to the East of that bridge there is a [SomaDrop] waiting, once done head through the center path North and follow it through to our next teleporter.

A simple level to follow around, South then East, grab the chest over the bridge [Elixir] (monster chest, Last Arm, just pound away at it and cast Wall on the character that it targets, it uses Magnet) then continue your path East. Go north over the double bridge then head West, there be a Save Point so might I suggest you use it eh? ^^; Head due North to our next teleporter and be prepared for a reunion. Simply go North and you will be promptly stopped by the 4 Fiends of the Elements, you think they would learn after being killed once eh? they want to take you on again so here we go. Kind of like, the 3 Stooges +1.

Boss ~ Elements (Milon-Z, Cagnazzo, Rubicant, Valvalis)

To be basic I'll just say that, remember what their weaknesses were and you will win this battle without breaking a sweat. Only problem is, they have 28000 HP per fiend.... roughly ^^;

Milon-Z ~ Fire
Rubicant ~ Ice
Cagnazzo ~ Bolt
Valvalis ~ None

Lay into it, have Rydia and FuSoYa cast their respective Level 3 Elemental spells to whip out massive damage, Rosa can just be healing and nothing more, Cecil attacks (cant do much else can he? lol) and have Edge use Image on himself, then attack as per normal. Throw some items if you want but its your call. The battle will take a while but it wont be horrifically time-consuming. Their attacks are as follows;

Milon-Z ~ Curse
Rubicant ~ Fire2, Fire3, Scorch
Cagnazzo ~ Big Wave
Valvalis ~ Glare, Storm

Details into each attack;

Curse -> Attack/Defense power halved
Scorch -> Fire based attack, average damage over multiple targets
Big Wave -> Attack based on 1/4 (roughly) of your MAX HP
Glare -> Gradual Petrify, 3 casts is total Petrify
Storm -> Hits all characters down to single digit HP (watch out for this one)

As compared to their normal strength, they tend to spread their attacks over the entire group.. thus making them deal out LESS damage then their attacks normally would.. but eh, you get that sometimes. You get good EXP from this battle so bare with it, once you're done head back down to that Save Point and use it! damn! why go over that shit twice if you get killed? lol Its a straight line from here so head North to that teleporter to find yourself in the Core (Total Annihilation! yeah!) to blow this rig up. Again just walk North and a scene will endure then you jump into another battle. woo.

Look's like the Death Star! cool.

Boss ~ CPU, Attacker, Defender

Simple battle (what's with this shit? I thought the end-game battles were supposed to be the hardest? heh) once more.

~ CPU casts Wall on self, to prevent any magic attacks.
~ Attacker uses Maser, hits all characters for 10% Max HP.
~ Defender uses Recover on the CPU every turn, 3000 HP cure.
~ If Attacker and Defender are not present, CPU uses Globe199 (KO attack) on one character then re-spawns the Attacker and Defender.

So some common sense applies here, heh. Get rid of the Defender and just lay into the CPU with Regular attacks (everyone) and have Rosa and/or FuSoYa patch up the HP of the group to safe levels. Cure3 every 2-3 Masers (on all characters) is more then enough. Rydia's Sylph summon works here too, doesn't get reflected AND deals some decent damage to boot -> consider using the summon often as her regular attacks do sweet fuck all dmg. Takes quite a while to knock down with just regular attacks but you'll get it done in due time, once the battle is over another scene endures.. I found it quite hilarious, Golbez comes marching in with an opening line of "YOU WRETCH!!" "You are all DEAD!!" but just as he is showing off, FuSoYa runs up to him and tells him to "Awaken" and he gets knocked out.

Golbez then realizes his true self and starts to get all dramatised.. he gets reminded of his Fathers name.. KluYa! gasp! he is Cecil's Brother! (dun dun dun!) so now the room goes a bit silent with a "Erm.. sorry for slaughtering you on multiple occasions bro! ^^;" atmosphere. Golbez goes off with FuSoYa to face Zemus solo and they both vanish from the room, just at that time the Giant begins to explode and huzzah! Cecil saved the day!

*crowd applause*

Enter the Kain, as the Giant goes down he rushes into the room and gets everyone out of the Giant before they all get crushed like grapes.. weeeee! We encounter yet another soapy scene of emotions where the 3 guys act macho and tell the girls to get off the Lunar Whale because they would be in danger, they leave, Rydia calls Edge an idiot and all is good. The party lands on the moon only to find out that Rosa/Rydia snuck onboard anyway (OH SNAP!) and they all decide to get on with it, so now we have our final party setup and ready to go. So, I can now announce this little thing.

Now is your chance to go back and do any Errands that you may have decided not to do, in actual fact, you now have the freedom to go anywhere and do anything. So eh, take advantage of it if you want to otherwise just make your way through to the Crystal Palace and go past the throne that FuSoYa was on to find yourself in the Crystal Room, in the center of the room is a teleporter which you can use to goto the Core of the Moon. But before you even THINK about it you need to go back to the Overworld, then to the Underworld and see Kokkol's Smithy for a shiny new sword.. Excalibur! While you're there you can buy some arrows and such for Rosa, or just get back to the damn Storyline.

Wait, there's on more little thing for you to do (completely optional, but it gets you another Summon) but its your call to go through with it, its *kind of* difficult so its a good challenge.

Errands Part 4

Haul your ass back to Baron (Save your progress too) Castle and make your way to the Eastern Tower and take those set of stairs going down (on your West as you enter), just keep on following the trail and go down the next set of stairs. You'll find yourself in another throne room! gasp! the King appears and welcomes Cecil, tells him not to grieve because of his Death and that in dieing he has attained eternal power... that will soon kick your ass ><, If your levels are low that is.

My 'Sword' is bigger.

Boss - Odin

Straight forward, believe it or not.

~ Regular attack on a random character, attacks often.
~ Uses "Odin" which inflicts massive damage to all party member. Easily KO's*
~ Weak vs. Bolt, Bolt3 - Blitz - Ramuh, will end this battle quickly.

*The attack hit my entire party around the 5000 mark, bypasses Blink and any other defensive spell o.o so.. eh.. fuck, try be as quick as you can during the whole experience. Dont bother using any kind of booster items, just attack attack attack cast attack cast. ^^;

Speaks for itself doesn't it? has a small HP count for a kind of "Boss" battle.. 20,001 HP which can be shaved down in two casts of Bolt3 (9999 without fail), plus a regular attack from Cecil or Edge. All too quick wasn't it? heh, Rydia can now summon Odin which I should mention in advance -> Odin is a random shot as it IS a KO attack and not all monsters are victim to it. So if there is 4 monsters on the battlefield, and 1 monster isn't effected by KO attacks, Odin will not be successful and you've just used 45MP on a failed summon. Heh, something to keep in mind when using it. Now you can head back to the moon and make your way back to the Crystal Palace. Once inside head North past the throne where FuSoYa was sitting on and observe the new room with all the crystals, walk to the center of the room onto that teleporter and well, it teleports you to the...

47 48

Monsters - Warlock, Kary, RedGiant, D.Bone, King-Ryu, Ging-Ryu, D.Fossil, Veteran, Tricker.

Warlock - None (casts Wind, Fire2, Psych, Drain, Bolt2)
RedGiant - None (uses Emission, weak fire attack. Magic Counter / Beam, uses Detonate which hits one character for whatever amount of HP that was left.)
Kary - None (Hug, full HP recovery then Petrify as a side effect)
D.Bone - Fire (effect of Venom with every regular attack)
King-Ryu - None (uses Blitz, random 10% or 50% MaxHP. Counters reg.attk with Entangle)
Ging-Ryu - None (uses Blaze, same effect as Flame. Entangle when Conf)
D.Fossil - Fire, Holy (casts Curse, 1/2 attack/defense, random Hold with regular attacks)
Veteran - Projectiles (continually casts Doom, 10sec countdown to KO)
Tricker - Thunder (Scan on itself, counters Bolt with Bolt3 then casts Haste on itself)

A forewarning on this though, there is around 5 - 6 levels to walk through so you'll read my direction very closely aight? I'll leave markers if I have to, so lets get on with it. Walk across the bridge and head directly East as there is a secret path, follow this path around the border of the walls and you will eventually reach the end and a chest to boot [Ninja Robe] its a monster chest though [RedGiant x2] so enjoy, heh. Make your way back around and now go west of the teleporter for another secret passage and a new teleporter (A), it sends you to the other side of the room and a set of Stairs to walk up. Do so and you'll be in a new room, see that chest? cant get it by going this way so I'll cover it when we go back. Go around this new room counter-clockwise to get to the teleporter but, you want to get this new chest dont you? [Sage Staff] and as per normal in this place -> its a monster chest [Warlock x2, Kary x2] have fun kids!

Continue around to that teleporter and you'll find yourself in a windy kind of path, just head South and go West once you come to the end of it. Now we are on the 3rd floor, from the entrance you can see two pillars so walk around to meet them and hmm... a floating sword? its the Murasame but you have to fight White.D for it. As all boss battles are, you have to keep the speed up or you'll be somewhat slaughtered.

White as a Scottsman.

46

46

48

48 49

Boss - White D.

~Counters all regular attacks with Slow
~Will hit you for very high damage, and damn fast, keep the HP up.
~Counters magic with GaiaRage, low powered attack vs. all.
~CAST FLOAT ON ENTIRE PARTY (before you enter the battle), so when you use magic and he counters with GaiaRage you'll all be immune to it.

Just keep the HP up, and maybe just cast Bahamut/Leviathan to shave his HP down a bit, once you're done you have a shiny new Murasame, give it to Edge and be on your way. (I tend to save my game after every one of these items is equipped, but your call) Make your way back up to (A) and walk around to the South end of the cave to see a set of stairs (B), go up them to check out our new level. THIS is where you can get that chest which was previously inaccessible so lets get on with it, head due East and you'll come across a secret passage which is easily navigated -> about 8 squares up into the passage you can head West to find a little off-road to follow around to that chest [FireLash] so equip it on Rydia if you are keen on the Whip deal, otherwise move on back up the passage to the North. Upon exiting the passage you head to the West (through another passage) and to the next set of stairs but, get that chest first [Dragon Shield] then make your way up.

About the FireLash for a sec, It may have some good attack power to its name.. BUT, it really doesn't help Rydia out. The +5 Str, Agi, Vit is all good, but the -5 Wis, Wil makes her magic that little bit weaker -> which you DONT want, so again its your call Magic or Strength. I personally kept her FairyRod equipped due to the bonuses and the fact that she isn't in the party to physically attacks things, she is there to BLAST things with her magic.

In this room we have a few items that are especially for Kain. So a basic route is -> go South and then West once you hit the bottom curve of the room, there is a chain of secret passages that lead to areas where chests are, its simple to navigate just simply head Clockwise and you'll find them all. From the first chest to the last ~ [Dragon Helmet, Dragon Armour, Dragon Gauntlet] all for Kain, glee! Once done walk back around and up those nearby set of stairs to find ourselves on the 4th floor. >< bleh, so many damn floors in this place but lets pillage some more chests to get our minds off it? from entering this new floor just go straight East and around that formation to find a chest [Artemis Arrows], then head back down that bridge and West to that nearby door. The chest within contains [Elixir] and nothing more is in the room, head back out and go due East and you'll come to another bridge, go down it and into that nearby door.

This path contains 2 chests, one to the North and one to the West so grab them both [Blizzard, X-Potion] and journey through the next exit and go have a poke at that new chest. Monster chest! Behemoth! hehe, enjoy, you'll get a [Stardust Rod] out of it. (equip it, +15 Wisdom is always good to have. If you had the FairyRod equipped you may sacrifice some Will but Rydia mainly uses offensive magic.. so meh, lol) Head South to arrive on the next floor down, from which you head straight on South then West through that door (A) but dont forget to open that chest, beat-up a Red D. and Blue D. (tough battle, if you dont play carefully) to get a [Crystal Shield], then head on through. Follow the path around and through a secret passage or two, get your chest along the way [Protect Ring] and examine your choices. The exit to the South (B) opens up to a ledge where a chest be [Crystal Armour], has a Behemoth inside but its truly worth your time. Head back through our previous area and North to the exit (C) and you'll notice a chest to your North/East, take a crack at the monster chest if you like, 2 Red D. for a Crystal Gauntlet, then head to our West and the next door (D) to which has some goodies inside.

Continue North and take a turn around that corner, follow it South to that chest [White Robe], then go back North and through the next exit (E). You can continue East to go through out next door into a small room with a chest [Inferno], then make your way West and swipe another chest [Crystal Helmet] (Monster chest, Warlock x1, D.Fossil x1, easy) and make your way down our next set of stairs back to the South. From entering our new level you are greeted with chests on both sides of the area. [Artemis Arrows, Fuma Shurinken] then a chest to the South on the West side of the 2 bridges [Cabin], make your way back around to that door you can see from the last chest you opened. In here is a chest to the West of the exit, monster chest, 3x Kary 1x Warlock, you get a Minerva Gown out of it, hoorah. Exit now. Ok, this is the last floor before the actual *core* of the moon so its all good from here so make your way South/East until you come across some doors, enter the first one you pass to reveal a Save Point (use it, you moron lol) so you can Save your Progress. The second door contains the HolyLnce for Kain but guess what? gotta fight for it. enter the Plague.

Boss - Plague

Funnily enough, this reminds me of the Odin battle. Plague has 33,333 HP so believe you me that you have to do this as fast as humanly possible. There is *one* positive thing in the battle, which I'll touch on below.

~Perhaps a Bacchus would be smart to use here, particularly on Cecil more then anything. Only downside to doing that is that he cant help other members, due to the following.
~Casts Doom on entire party, over and over again. It restarts the countdown to KO when he recasts it on individual characters of the party.
~Be ready with a Life when a member does fall, no need to heal their HP as Plague doesn't attack at all.
~Being a Floating Monsters he is infact weak vs. Projectiles, so let Rosa go nuts here >=)
~Casts Haste on random party members, doesn't help *that* much but its good all the same.
~CHEAT: Keep pounding the X button when the counter is around 01, the timer will halt at 00 if you keep on bashing that button. Thus all party members not KO-ing.

All good, we now have the HolyLnce in our possession. Go back and patch yourself up at that Save Point and then enter the next room, it has 2 Chests which yes.. you must fight for. 2 Lunasaurs to be exact, but these are quite a troublesome set of fossils to mess with.

5 on 2, still sounds fair.

46

46

48

48 49

Boss - Lunasaurs x2

Yep, as mentioned above this battle may start off soft but it really screws you over when you get into the main part of the battle.

~ Regularly attack for weak damage.
~ Once you make contact with either of them, they cast Wall on each other, then reflect much more powerful spells and abilities at you. Such as;
~ Breath (Toad, Charm, Mini, Piggy, Silence on one character)
~ Fire (same as Flame)
~ Recover (2300 Hp cure)
~ Casts Bio once Wall is up, bounce it off each other.

So some serving suggestions are...

~ Try hold off attacking them (with regular attacks) aslong as you can, once they put up that Wall you are truly fucked, unless you have massive levels on-top of what I had at the time.
~ Rydia + Bahamut = HP shredding. They may counter it with Recover but it doesn't really do much =\ heh.
~ Using Blink here is an option, but due to the rate at which they attack.. well, kinda wastes turns recasting it for all characters now aint it? The damage they deal out is minor anyway, during the entire battle it is always minor so just keep the Curing up.

What I did to beat them this time around?

~ Used nothing but Bahamut, aswell as having to use Esuna on every single character when Breath was used on them. Heh.
~ No-one attacked regularly, took more time but it payed off ^.^

One the torture is over you will get your hands on 2 Ribbons, which I should add are very handy little items to be had as they render the wearer of the item, pretty much Immune to 90% of the status Ailments, if not all of them (much like the Adamant Armour) so choose who is going to get them wisely. I tend to give them to Rosa / Rydia due to the magical benefits, Kain/Cecil/Edge focus on attacking and evading so.... let them have their uber-armour from chests and the girls get their pansy bow-ties XD (which, ironically enough makes them better off then the guys, lmao).. ahem, moving on. The way I am doing this is to get all the Sealed Weapons first and then go back through and finish the game so it's all good, our next destination is the next floor down to lets get cracking shall we?

From the shiny new Save Point continue your journey to the East then follow the trail around and down those stairs, walk through the nearby door and we have our next level. Once inside head to your East then down those stairs, from there go West (only way you can go, heh) until you come to the last square to head North and score yourself a chest [Fuma Shurinken], head down those stairs and head East and around the lower path. When you see a narrow path heading to the South, take it and you'll find yourself aside the next Sealed Weapon, the Masamune. And again you must defeat a monster to get your hands on it -> his name is Ogopogo and he is keen to kick your ass.

Leviathan's brother.

49

47

51

50 51

Boss - Ogopogo

I'll start off by saying, this will REALLY HURT. He is very fast and has 50,000 HP to chew down so hey ho! this'll be fun for the entire family. Lets see what he has to offer neh?

~ His first attack is Big Wave, but you know what sucks? he does it twice in the same turn o.o tends to deal out some MASSIVE damage. (he also uses Big Wave once, randomly)
~ Regularly attacks (moderate/high damage) so have Edge use his Image as much as possible.
~ Counters magic with Blaze, which hits all characters for around 800-1300 of damage. May be level based damage I'm not sure.

So, to keep the battle in your favour keep doing the following.

~ As mentioned above, Edge needs to use his Image every time it fades off.
~ Cure4 every round regardless, Big Wave can shave your HP down dramatically and his Blaze also packs a punch.
~ Be careful when using Bahamut, It may deal out in upwards of 9999 damage but he counters with that Blaze. *IF* you want to cast it make sure everyone's HP is atleast over 1000.
~ If you dont use the Jump option for every turn Kain has, you're a crazy bastard.
~ Have Edge throw a few Items / Shurinken's to make him more useful in the battle.

We now have a Masamune! hoorah! Now from here I have to stress that you get your skinny ass back to that Save Point and plan your next phase of attack. We will be hitting the Ragnorak up next but its a loooooong walk from this current location so you'll have to read the instructions carefully. From the Save Point trace your steps back to the previous level (outside of that next room, that is) and make your way around to that chest you opened earlier on.. examine the area to the West of it and there is a secret bridge, walk around on the West side of that area and I guarantee you will find it. Once you find this little sneak continue your journey North/West and another secret passage awaits where you can walk no further, follow the path and you'll be zipped across the level.

Once on the other side of the level, walk South to plunder a chest [Au Apple] then go far East and you'll find a teleporter, use it and you'll now be on another part of the level lol. Go North and you get zipped off yet again to another level. As the previous level just make your way North, get the chest [Protect Ring] (Monster chest, Behemoth x1, no challenge) and take the next teleporter to the last room before the next boss battle. They have conveniently put a Save Point in this room so I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU USE THIS unless you are minus a brain right now, so if that's the case go right on outside and head East to meet your next challenge.

Damnit, not again.

51

49

52

51 52

Boss - Wyvern

What? You expect them to just hand out the Sealed Weapons? lol. The weapon we will be getting from this battle is the Ragnorak which is the most powerful Sword in the game.. so they put an equally powerful boss to look over it (makes sense right?) and rape you during your attempt, so lets see what's on the menu.

~ As soon as the battle commences, Wyvern throws in a MegaFire which will more then likely KO a multiple characters.
~ Casts Wall on himself directly after, and continually bounces Flare off his own Wall. You cant reflect it back at him this way. ><
~ Uses Recover on himself when Wall fades, 6000 HP restored.
~ Counters magic with MegaFire.

**** After multiple attempts at this, I decided to go off and level some more to try my chances at another time.

After a few more levels..

54

52

55

54 55

Amazing what a few levels can do for you eh? Compare those, 3 levels on-top of what I initially attempted and in the latter battle I only had one fatality, which was Edge straight off the bat for having piss all defense being the Ninja that he is ^^;. All that aside, I just decided to regularly attack with all my party members (once raised/cured, etc) to prevent the MegaFire attack. Haste cast on Rosa, Edge, Cecil, and the battle was mine after a short while ... Due to his Recover it took a while longer then it should've but I made it through all the same. Some of you may like to go all out with Magic or whatever you normally do, but in the case of this battle I'd put all your strategies aside and just go ghetto. So yeah, just goes to show you that levels actually do make a difference in this Final Fantasy neh? ^.~

Make your way back to the Save Point which is next to the room where you got Kain's HolyLnce and use it, then head around to the North and down to the next level (floor where you got the Masamune for Edge) and we're officially in the..

Moon's Core

And you thought there were no more floors.

54

52

55

54 55

Monsters ~ EvilMask, Behemoth, Breath, Mind

EvilMask ~ None (casts Wall on self/entire party. Reflects Holy/Flare/Bio to party, reflects Cure3 off party)
Behemoth ~ None (counters regular to all attacks, regular/magic.)
Breath ~ None ("Reporting to Master Zemus" -> Scan on a random member, counters magic with Blast)
Mind ~ None (casts Charm, randomly 1 character or ALL PARTY.)

Although this is the last stride of the game, its actually quite a short one.. providing you survive on your way to the homebase as their are some tough motherfuckers down here. Enough of that though, lets be off! Weave your way back down to where you got that Masamune for Edge, but go to the North instead and down that newfound stairwell to our next floor down. From there head down South then East, go up and grab that chest [Elixir] the go back South then West until you hit a stairwell, South then East a little more and we have another chest [Whistle] to plunder and our next teleporter is to the East. (what's with all these damn East's eh? lol) And more basic directions for you to take heed -> West, South, East, South, then we have a chest [Fuma Shurinken] located directly to our East, grab that and keep on going; West all the way, there is another chest [Fuma Shurinken] to fiddle with. Lastly you head South/East along the path until you see our sacred teleporter.

I really dont need to give directions for this level, but its basically.. a big 5. Yes, that's right, the floor is shaped like the number 5. Follow this simple path to gain access to the Center of the Core, the final battleground. But there's some actual story to go with now, heh, as you enter the Moon's Central Core you are faced with a scene where FuSoYa & Golbez are double-teaming Zemus and lay the smackdown.. with success I should add, conversing about how much of a waste Zemus was because he was evil, when Edge suddenly jumps the rail and shouts "Right on!" and goes on his usual bloating lol. "You guys beat me to it", all fun and games until Zemus' corpse turns into flames and his spirit comes out, he is now Zeromus. The absolute darkness, the epitome of hate and that Death only increased his power/hatred.. After sending out a blast of energy which knocks the entire party out cold, FuSoYa & Golbez take another shot at Zeromus.

Here is where things get interesting.. Meteo cures Zeromus now =\ not good at all, so FuSoYa yells at Golbez to use "The Crystal" to put Zeromus away. Only problem is that, the Crystal is eclipsed in the hands of darkness -> Golbez has been 'evil' for the majority of the story, so the Crystal doesn't work and that being said Zeromus returns the Meteo back at the two slaughtering them. I find this next little piece of text from Z to be quite evil..

"Agony... Death... The hatred to rage on until all dies."

Switch scene to Mysidia, where everyone begins to panic (in a sense) as to how they can help.. so, the Mysidian Elder makes everyone pray to the heavens in order to help them. Zone back to the Moon's Core where Cecil is the first to stand up only to see his Brother (Golbez) on the ground, he approaches him and Golbez hands him the Crystal to use against Zeromus. Now we enter the..

Final Confrontation

..Where Cecil is the only one alive, with 1 HP.. lol, here you get all those prayers from all the guys in Mysidia that revive all your party members, HP/MP, etc. Your party should be ready to rumble now, so lets get to it. >=)

Got my ass kicked on these levels.

As the table mentions, I *did* get my ass handed back to me on that occasion, so I lurked around the Moon's Core in search of some exp and was given more then generous amounts of it. As the levels below illustrate my second attempt.

Then I leveled up!

Remember when I mentioned "bring on the pain" for some other bosses? well, I believe this overrides them all. The battle starts with his spirit, just floating there, shaking away, you cant hit it with any attacks and your magic only heals him. So what do you do? hmm? Oh, yeah, use that Crystal you were given by Golbez and Zeromus' TRUE FORM will be shown and let me tell you.. its NOT pretty. (BTW, there is also an item you should Steal from Zeromus during his spirit form.. DarkMatter, it lowers the effects of Zeromus' next set of attacks.. I didn't manage to steal it from him after about 20-30 attempts so I went on without it.) So, let the battle commence! A member by member recommendation;

Cecil: Cant do much more then Attack normally, make sure you got Ragnorak equipped.
Kain: Jump, dont hit any other option, keep jumping like black man!
Edge: Throw anything/everything and Attack normally.
Rydia: Bahamut, Leviathan, Meteo, Flare, (last resort) Bio and/or all Elemental spells.
Rosa: Cure4, and Life2 when someone bites the dust.

As for Zeromus, well, he certainly makes all the other bosses look like a joke that's for sure.

~ Uses Big Bang at regular intervals, massive damage to all party members. Aswell as a HP Degen effect that takes quite a while to fade off.
~ Also casts Black Hole, nullifies any positive status (eg. Haste, Armor, Shell)
~ Counters Summons with Bio.
~ Casts Bio at random, all characters.
~ Randomly casts Flare vs. 1 character.
~ Counters Holy with Weak.
~ Counters Magic (other then Flare) with Meteo, random character hit though.. 2-5.. rather average damage.
~ Casts Meteo at random, as above, 2-5 character hit. Quite weak too.
~ Counters Flare with Flare, directed back at caster.

Well damn! After all the abuse you gave him, and the abuse he returned.. he FINALLY decides to go and die, which works in your favour as you can imagine so. The scene switches back to the crystal room where the battle commenced and Zeromus leaves a parting speech.

"I will not... perish... so long as evil... dwells in the hearts... of mankind. G... Gh... GRRRAAGH!!"

He fades away (about fucking time too!) and we get back on track. Now starts the congratulating and smiles all around, FuSoYa is amazed by the power of their race and maybe it even transcends the Lunarians. Edge is being a smartass and gloating about it, but it is promptly toned down when Zeromus' last words are brought onto the discussion table. FuSoYa mentions that good AND evil dwell in the hearts of everyone, just as the crystal of light and dark exist, just as the overworld and underworld together form the earth. Against evil will, good will arises. "thus did you overcome Zemus". Quite a speech if I ever heard one, in with Edge and his smartass remarks again as Rydia puts it hilariously "Could you be more arrogant!? I'm surprised that Zemus didn't control you." Good reply from Edge "Hey, never me. I'm all righteousness." Heh, the talks now tone down as FuSoYa mentions his plans to hibernate with the rest of his race in peace, there-in asking what the party had planned.

Going home, obviously. Golbez kicks in and requests to go with FuSoYa, in spite of all his evil doings back on earth he feels as though he isn't worthy enough to set foot back on its soil. He then tries to amend some brotherly bonds with Cecil with not much luck, and gets on his way with FuSoYa. The group give Cecil a shove for being so cold about it all and make him (well, kinda, he steps out without "encouragement" from the party, lol) say something to Golbez. He gives his goodbye, thanks, goodnight, off we go, great, yahoo! It switches to quite a nifty little animation here with the Mysidian Legend scrolling across screen (bottom to top) with some planets behind it, the big blue one being Earth obviously enough. That's all done? cool, It's now time to endure the "ending scenery" of the game which I shall describe and add some off-colour commentary.

Epilogue

Switch scene to Mysidia, Porom is summoned by the Elder for their schooling only to notice that, Palom isn't with her. So Porom sets out to find Palom flirting with another young girl outside of the village (makes hints to the girl that he has a huge penis) due to the victory. Porom drags Palom back to the Elder and is told to transcribe 1000 spells by night, because he "wants you to be the next Tellah!". Palom gives out a gloomish scream of "Noooooo!" and we then switch over to..

Eblan, where Edge is getting some lessons in etiquette from the Old Man who is like.. the minister of Eblan, telling him to be more polite and not giving lazy replies, AND to stop courting with Wemon around the castle. Edge has nothing else on his mind besides Rydia, "Damn, there's no girl that can compare to you, Rydia", says the young prince. So he makes his way out of the throne room and we move onto.

Leviathan and Asura whom are amazed by the fact that Rydia actually came back after all that battling that she and the party endured, they keep praising her and mentioned what life she will bring to the populace of the Land of Summons. Rydia is approached by a younger Monster (Guess its the most accurate term to use? lol, considering the sprites they all use.) and he asks Rydia if he can have teeth like hers? (what the hell kind of question is that?) because he doesn't like his fangs and wants to look more like Rydia. She runs the old "We may look different, but inside we are all the same" speech and we shift over to.

Sir Yang, the new king of Fabul. His wife seems to be quite uneasy with the whole royalty thing so she is running around complaining about it all, since its "Making her neck feel stiff!" so Yang goes off for a training session with some of the other monks as Yang's wife yells at him some more to get back here, the former King tells her to relax and get used to the royal life.

We now find ourselves in Damcyan, where Edward and company are reconstructing the castle from its ashes when a small group of children walk up to Edward and request that he sing the Paladin Song. He shoves them off after assuring them that he will sing it for them later when they finish some work, Edward asks for Anna to watch over Tellah and to guide him through his future travels.

King Giott takes the stage now, he is assisting all his fellow Dwarves in repairing the castle after all the harassment it got during the Red Wings onslaught.. one of the Dwarves approaches the King and tells him that they don't have enough steel to finish the repairs, simply enough, Giott orders all the Tanks to be scrapped since he doesn't want to see another war. Rally ho! A short time after the same Dwarf approaches Giott again and mentions that they didn't get enough steel from the tanks. Well then, lets scrap all the weapons instead? All good, Giott is happy, Luca is happy, but they become even happier when they get an invite to Cecil & Rosa's coronation.

Back to Mt.Ordeals, where Kain apologizes to Cecil & Rosa that he cannot attend the occasion because he wants to surpass his father and be the best Dragoon of known time. Thus requiring him to train and train and train, etc. He feels as though he isn't worthy to even be in Cecil's presence so this is for the best, through his eyes anyway.

At the same time a astrologer notices something through the telescope at Agart, the second moon seems to be... moving on its own and flinging itself out of Earth's orbit, this moon was the Lunarian moon and as you know.. FuSoYa and Golbez have taken the long slumber and left the Earth to fend for itself, since it is more then capable.

The final part of the ending, we have Cecil & Rosa in the top level of the Western Tower (Cecil's quarters, remember the Dark Knight days?) chatting away.. Cecil gets a hint of hearing his brother, Rosa asks what he said then Cecil shrugs it off and tells her not to bother. Cid then walks in and tells them to move their asses and get it over with, so they can go make babies.. but none of that can be done without Rosa putting on some makeup! gasp! so Cid drags her downstairs to get busy with the Maids while Cecil ponders about hearing Golbez.. "He said.... Goodbye". Now we phase into the throne room (is it me? or did the place get redesigned?) where everyone comes in to say hello. (in no particular order) King Giott, Luca, Yang, Edward, Edge, Palom, Porom, Elder, Cid, Troia priestess, and probably some more but I cant recall at this very second. They all to the victory poses and the screen fades out to the credits.

...which I'm not going to type up, because I have typed up everything else.

~~~ END OF WALKTHROUGH ~~~
Don't rip off my work, bitch.
